The 2026 winner of the Environmental Excellence Award is Maiden Tāmaki.

The Environmental Excellence Award recognises the business that has been pushing the boundaries to become more environmentally sustainable. We were looking for businesses that are working towards a positive environmental footprint, that operate and provide products or services that help us live lightly and support Auckland’s commitment to transform for a better, brighter, low carbon future.

Judges called Maiden Tāmaki "A powerful and purpose-driven organisation demonstrating strong cultural authenticity, community engagement, and meaningful impact." They also noted that it showed "strong growth and partnerships supported by kaupapa Māori values."

The Outstanding Customer Service Award is given to the business that has the highest score for the mystery shopping component conducted by Hoed Research NZ Ltd.

This year we had not one but eight businesses achieve a perfect score of 100%. Over recent years the scores for this category have continued to improve, which goes to show the increasingly high standards of customer service given (and expected) in the Ōrākei area.
