I've been asked to replace the light switch. After explaining to the customer we offer three kinds of services.

Good, Cheap and Fast; you can pick any two.

Good and Cheap wont be Fast,
Fast and Good wont be Cheap and,
Cheap and Fast wont be Good.

Thankfully they picked fast and good.

However with modern light switches this change requires a custom backing plate to accomodate the new light switch. Plastering and wall paper not required.

Upcoming work for this place will be a full replacement of Main Switchboard and all wiring in the installation.

You say what? Don’t you love it when tradies talk acronyms in front of customers. BullSh baffles brains some say.
So, let’s break this down for you and take the bull out of the sh .
Main reason why this test is conducted is to ensure the following;
1. Will the circuit breaker or fuse trip/blow and clear the fault?
2. Will the circuit breaker or fuse trip/blow in time?
Failure to do this test on active power circuits before extending and or modifying the circuit could potentially lead to property damage though fires or electrocution due to the circuit breaker not tripping/blowing due to incorrect cable sizes suppling the power circuit over a long distance.

Not sure how well you can see it but if you see any green stuff on your switchboard then you need an electrician.
This stuff is copper sulphate and is a serious hazard.
