Crossgate Capital has introduced staking for eligible crypto assets in the diversified portfolio we have managed for New Zealand investors since 2019.

Eligible assets can now help secure their blockchain networks and potentially earn rewards. Where rewards are received, the Board may resolve to distribute some or all of that staking income to investors. Staking rewards are variable and not guaranteed.

Investors are included automatically, with no need to opt in. No forms, no wallets, nothing to set up. We manage the staking on your behalf.

Long-term capital growth remains our primary objective. Staking adds a second, complementary potential source of return.

🌐 Blockchain in practice: another step forward for business payments.

On 22 September, payments infrastructure provider BVNK announced that its integration with the Stellar blockchain is live, giving businesses access to another high-speed, low-cost payment rail through BVNK’s single platform and API.

The integration supports uses such as cross-border payments, merchant payouts and business treasury transfers. Businesses can access Stellar through BVNK’s platform without building a separate connection to the network themselves.

🔍 This is another development in the use of blockchain infrastructure.

🤝 The Cardano Foundation has joined Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program, placing Cardano alongside firms exploring blockchain-based payment applications.

💳 The scope of the collaboration includes cross-border payments, business-to-business transactions, stablecoins and settlement, some of the most active use cases in the tokenised finance space.

This does not mean Mastercard is integrating Cardano into its payment platform today. What it does provide is an avenue for collaboration and potential future use cases with one of the world's largest payment networks.

🏦 Chainlink has announced a strategic partnership with Bottomline — a top-three SWIFT services provider. The partnership unlocks cross-chain, cross-border payments for Bottomline's 600+ bank customers.

Recently it was also reported that the Wyoming Stable Token Commission — issuer of Frontier (FRNT), a US state-issued stable token — adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve to provide near-real-time onchain verification of the reserves backing FRNT.

Data aggregator CryptoRank’s latest figures shows that the DeFi lending space is regaining traction among users, with Aave emerging as the clear market leader.

They report Aave alone accounts for approximately 48% of the total lending volume, holding over USD $12 billion in outstanding loans.

The protocol is now transitioning to its V4 architecture, launched first on Avalanche last month, its first major expansion beyond Ethereum and purpose-built to support lending markets for tokenised real-world assets.

Transaction activity on the Solana blockchain reached a record high in July.

Onchain data reported by The Kobeissi Letter showed that Solana processed a record 4.2 billion transactions in July.

The growth has coincided with a broader expansion in tokenised real-world assets.

On Solana specifically, the value of tokenised real-world assets has been increasing.

⚙️A new privacy feature built for institutional money is heading to a validator vote on the XRP Ledger.

XRPL version 3.3.0, recently released, includes six proposed amendments to the network.

One of the amendments is "Confidential Transfers" an update aimed at institutional users. It encrypts balances and payment amounts on Multi-Purpose Tokens, the token format Ripple has been promoting for funds, bonds and other financial assets.

This let’s institutions move tokenised assets without publishing the size of every position and every transfer.

Digital Gold Meets Digital Engine: Bitcoin, Ethereum And Why We Hold Both

Ask most people to name a cryptocurrency and they'll say Bitcoin. Ask them to name a second and many will say Ethereum. They are the two largest and best-known crypto assets in the world, and both form part of Crossgate Capital's portfolio.

But while they are often mentioned in the same breath, they were built to do very different jobs and understanding that difference is one of the clearest ways to understand crypto itself.

The simplest way to think about it is purpose. Bitcoin is primarily about holding value securely over time. Ethereum is about doing things, running the "smart contracts" and applications that underpin decentralised finance, tokenisation and much of the wider digital-asset economy.
