Chitra tells the brief story for how the Grace Children home was Started

In 1995 I was studying in a secular collage at KTM. I had seen many street children sleeping and making beds on the street. These children reminded me my own childhood history and poverty. Since that time my heart went to those children who are poor helpless and parentless I had been started dreaming to adopting them and sch

ooling them. Yet, I couldn’t do because of financial problems was great but started praying. I also shared to my Church about those children to pray. Church also joined for it to pray but couldn’t do anything to them in practical. In 1997 I was invited to a Christian retreat centre in UK for volunteer worker where I had time to pray and share with the people. I returned back to Nepal and again share with my pastor starting orphan home as part of our Church ministry. Our Congregation was positive about it and started praying about it. Again it wasn’t right time and I was called to train up as a leader and went to Bible College in Glasgow from where I earned Diploma certificate level and come back to Nepal

to continue our Lord Ministry. Now I again seriously called deacons and pastor to pray for what I had been dreaming about orphan’s home we hold every Sunday fasting prayer for guidance from the Lord about starting orphans home. My Church reached in agreement starting orphan’s home and bought couple of children’s beds. We also bought plastic containers and had given it to each member of Church. The idea is to separate one handful rice in their each cooking time. We gave named for plastic containers as ‘Grace Box’. Thus each week church enables to collect 30 Kg. of rice. And for the first time we adopted 3 children. We had church meeting how to run the children home and what we name for it? One of the Church’s members suggested the name ‘Grace Children home’ as they living by Grace Box. So the new name grace children home came obviously from ‘Grace Box’. it is formally started in 2002. Again we felt to legalize it and indeed registered with the Government in 2005 as a charity organization. At present these are the children at Grace Children home accommodating and their brief
