Ullpledd CURRENTLY NOT IN ACTION
Ullpledd is Norwegian word for a wool blanket which started this mission. The mountain families needs us to take action now.

Ullpledd is the Norwegian name for wool blanket and used for keeping humans nice and warm. They are all now suffering after the huge earthquakes. Little they had, now also this is lost and it’s a major disaster. So the main thought for this project is to help out all the children and their families in the mountain of Himalayas. The big helping organisations are doing a great job in Nepal, but very

focused for the big groups near to Kathmandu area. We want to bring more help and info to and from the small villages in the mountains. We will be able to do so, and you can all help us to make it possible. What we are aiming for is your contribution with wool blankets, fleece blankets so we can keep them warm while rebuilding it all. I`m sure most of you have some blankets no longer in use, but we can use them. We have great friends and associates in Nepal. Event company Highspirittreks will organize everything locally in Nepal. This is our guarantee for the help to arrive directly where its needed. So we will run this project with very low cost and administration, and make sure all the aid will get to the right ones. Dear all,
with heavy hearts we have decided to cease our work as Ullpledd. Ullpledd has faced too many major obstacles during the past year and after many attempts at carrying on, we have come to this conclusion after deep consideration. It is our only option. Our hearts are broken. However, we are happy that we were able to run the school in the remote mountain village in Randepu for some years. It was amazing. It would not have been possible without all of you and the great local teachers. Therefore, we would like to thank each individual and company who made it possible for Ullpledd to help students in Randepu. We would also like to say a huge thank you to our coordinator Pooja. You have done amazing job and your heart is pure gold.

Going forward:
We would like to remind everyone about Atle's wise words: "little help is better than nothing". We encourage everyone to be kind and help people near and far with the same spirit that Ullpledd had. And who knows, perhaps one day Ullpledd will be able to continued again.

Today is the World Children’s Day. The world is increasingly unpredictable and there has never been a greater need for defenders of children’s rights. The corona pandemic, protracted wars and crises, and climate change pose an unprecedented threat to children’s health, well-being and education.

This video of two girls dancing well shows their hope and joy for a better world they may not even know about. Every child should know their own rights. It is the right of every human being and child.
