The Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperative Federation Ltd., Dhading (SFACF-D) was established in 1996 in Dhading, Nepal as an autonomous, non-governmental organisation registered with the Division Cooperative Office, Dhading Nepal. l. Since 1996, SFACF has grown rapidly focusing on replicating the SFACLs in new VDCs, research, capacity strengthening and providing technical support to its member organizations. SFACF has been supporting institutional capacity building, improving agricultural production, marketing, and network development of SFACLs societies for over 16 years. SFACF activities are based on participation. The organisation is dedicated to building the SFACLs capacities. Nepal is a mountainous country where most of the peoples are involved in agricultural activities. Traditional subsistence farming is still being used so that people are barely producing enough food for their own family. We believe one of the best strategies is to apply cooperative principles and services to their members improving their socio economic status. SFACF has been providing financial and nonfinancial services to its members. There are 37 Small Farmers Agricultural Cooperatives Ltd. workings under the SFACF with a total of 22,830 members amongst which 61% are women.
