Janai Purnima — a thread of love, faith, and Newa tradition. 🌿🧵

For the Newa community, Janai Purnima is also Kwati Punhi, a day when families come together to prepare and enjoy Kwati — a nourishing soup made from nine kinds of sprouted beans. 🥣❤️

There’s a little story in every bowl: after the long rains, our ancestors celebrated with Kwati as a way to restore strength and warmth. Alongside the sacred thread, the festival became a beautiful reminder of protection, family, community, and gratitude.

From the sacred Janai and Doro to a warm bowl of Kwati, we carry our heritage forward — one generation, one ritual, and one shared meal at a time.

परम्पराअनुसार, यस दिन घर–आँगनमा रहेका नकारात्मक शक्ति, भूतप्रेत तथा अशुभ तत्वलाई प्रतीकात्मक रूपमा पन्छाई सुख, शान्ति र समृद्धिको कामना गरिन्छ। पुर्खौँदेखि चलिआएको यस संस्कारले हाम्रो संस्कृति, विश्वास र परम्परालाई पुस्तौँसम्म जीवित राख्दै आएको छ। ❤️
