Goals and Applications of AI
The primary goals of AI include deduction and reasoning, knowledge representation and planning, natural language processing and learning, and perception and the ability to manipulate objects. Long-term goals involve creative, social, and human levels of intelligence.
The impact of artificial intelligence in different domains is difficult to recognize. AI applications are integrated into the infrastructure of every industry.

Types of Artificial Intelligence.
The concept can be divided into three categories of complexity. You have probably encountered some of the examples listed:
Weak AI focuses on a single task. A weak AI lacks self-awareness and true intelligence. Siri is an example of a weak AI that helps the user. All it takes is a little talk with the virtual assistant for its weakness to become apparent.
Strong or True AI is a computer as smart as a human brain. A strong AI will be able to perform the tasks that humans do. Much research is being done in this area and much work remains to be done.
Artificial superintelligence is "an intelligence that is far smarter than the best human minds in almost every area, including scientific creativity, general wisdom, and social skills" - Nick Bostrom, philosopher and professor at Oxford University.
Artificial superintelligence has scientists worried about the possible extinction of humanity.
From fantasy to reality
Robots have yet to arrive at our disposal, but AI has already affected weather forecasting, spam filtering, search queries and voice recognition. Even if you didn't think you'd ever encountered artificial intelligence - believe me, you have.
These technologies combine machine learning algorithms that make real-time interaction happen. The positive effect that artificial intelligence will have on society is thought to be disproportionate to the complexities involved.

Want to become an AI pro? Well, there is no single answer to the question of what artificial intelligence does. Almost every author who writes a book about AI pushes back on some definition, looking at the achievements of that science in its light.
The question of the nature and status of human intelligence has not been resolved in philosophy. Nor is there an exact criterion for computers achieving "sanity," although a number of hypotheses were proposed in the early days of artificial intelligence, such as the Turing test or the Newell-Simon hypothesis.
