Alongside our belief in the power of sharing – especially when it comes to knowledge – is our commitment to long-term relationships and the fostering of new ones. The opportunity to combine all these qualities at our latest Athens seminar, held last week, was one that team-members of Norwegian Hull Club grabbed enthusiastically.

The event, which was held at the city’s Marriot, was very well attended by many of The Club’s valued clients, brokers and network of surveyors in Greece. With a number of presentations under the banner ‘Reflections and Insights into an Ever-Changing World’, attendees were provided not only with an update on the latest developments and status at Norwegian Hull Club - including its crew health cover subsidiary Marine Benefits - but also the marine, energy and renewables outlook until the end of next year.

With a round-up of potential impacts and exposures, including examples of incidents from high-risk areas stemming from the latest geo-political circumstances – together with concerns from an insurance perspective and claims trends – a number of attendees took the opportunity to raise further points and ask questions of The Club’s team.

After the event, we were happy to be joined by our guests on the roof-top terrace for some refreshments and engaging conversations lasting well into the evening.

Many thanks to everyone who attended!

Our belief in the power of training when it comes to reducing risk is a cornerstone of our knowledge-sharing approach.

Last week, it was Norwegian Hull Club’s pleasure to play its part in Odfjell SE’s latest global training exercise, which lasted two packed days. Such an exercise is an invaluable learning medium for all parties, and we truly appreciate both the insights we gained as well as the opportunity to take part.

With participants spread around the world – from Bergen to Shanghai and the Philippines – this was an ambitious, meticulously thought-out exercise focused on learning more about complex insurance cases, while also helping to identify the capability of an organisation’s culture in regard to emergency response.

Many thanks to Odfjell SE for the opportunity to take learn together with them, and to all those who participated in this stand-out exercise!

Norwegian Hull Club regularly plans and conducts office contingency exercises together with its members and clients. Realistic role-play is an important factor when engaging the clients’ emergency team in the scenario. At Norwegian Hull Club, the whole organisation is trained to take part in such role-play, such is our commitment to fostering a 'preparedness by awareness' mindset.

The zero-emission journey requires curiosity, innovation, first-movers, new technologies and trusted partners.

Always approaching the development of our product and service solutions with the ambition of being more than just a capacity provider, Norwegian Hull Club aims to be an enabler for our clients on this journey.

At our annual seminar and BBQ in Oslo last week, we reflected on our role and how The Club works when assessing new types of insurance risks, as well as what challenges we have experienced and expect to see with the transition to new technologies. We also took a look at how this has improved our service offering and our way of working.

It was a pleasure for us to host this gathering and strengthen existing relationships while also creating new ones. We value long-term relationships and, to foster these while also being able to share insights regarding the market - as well as the status of The Club - was once again a privilege.

Following the seminar, there was a very well received social and networking event on the rooftop terrace at Dronning Eufemias gate 16, with entertainment from DJ and saxophonist Vicent Bas.

Many thanks to all who attended!

One of our great strengths - and a highly rewarding aspect of working here at The Club and its subsidiaries - is the number of countries that our team members come from. At last count, 18 nationalities were represented here at Norwegian Hull Club.

We aim to create a culture where everybody can thrive, and recognise that learning Norwegian can be quite a challenge for many who come to us from other countries.

This morning in Bergen, we kicked-off our weekly "Frokostklubben", or "The Breakfast Club", with a mix of non-Norwegian employees and helpful, supportive Norwegian colleagues. The aim? For our employees from outside Norway to become more comfortable using the language, helping them get more out of their day-to-day experiences - whether in the office or elsewhere. For most roles here at The Club, Norwegian language skills are not an absolute requirement. However, if people would like to learn, we do our utmost to support them.

With a relaxed setting a great selection of breakfast treats, it was a great way to start the day and rewarding for the non-Norwegians and native speakers alike! We encourage more non-Norwegian colleagues from The Club, INSTECH Solutions AS, NIORD - Enabling endless energy and Marine Benefits to join us for next week's gathering!
