E-maji water monitoring the simple way

Emaji (E-water in Swahili) is an autonomous low cost water quality monitoring system that monitors multiple water quality parameters at a drinking water source in real time. If a contamination is detected, the system then uses a built-in GPRS transmitter to send GPS coordinates of the contaminated water source.

A warm welcome to our new Kenyan team mate Nickson Kipkirui (the guy in the middle). Nickson graduated recently from the UNESCO-IHE, Institute for Water Education, Delft, The Netherlands. He holds a Master of Science in Urban Water and Sanitation (Specialization in Water Supply Engineering) and is a trained WASH expert. We are pleased to have him in our midst and are eager to achieve our next milestone with his expertise; the roll out of E-maji on the ground.
