Here is Óscar from Spain who joined the Rotterdam team😍! “I’m Óscar, 23 years old and I come from Spain.
I’m excited to meet people from different backgrounds, learn about new cultures, and discover new perspectives through shared experiences.
I’m looking forward to joining activities where people support each other, share ideas, and work as a team toward a common goal.
I also want to be part of projects that make a positive impact on communities while growing personally and being part of something meaningful.” 📸 and 🎵 selected by volunteer - 🎨 design by Annabell

“Hi everyone🌻 My name is Ilenia, I’m 26 years old and I’m from Italy. I have a Master’s degree in Economic Development and International Relations, and I probably have too many hobbies to list here! What matters most to me is building meaningful and fun connections with people and making the most of these months together. I chose this project for two reasons: to grow as a person and discover more about myself through a new lifestyle and experience, and to learn more about a field I deeply care about and hope to work in the future. I believe the Netherlands and its system have a lot to teach me 💚“ - 📸 & 🎵 ➡️ Ilenia; design ➡️ Annabell

Last weekend Annabell’s brother visited the volunteers in Zoetermeer and together they went to Noordwijk on Saturday, which is the city the two spent many years of their childhood in.
Their trip started in such a cute ambience: ❤️
>> An inclusive cafe where the volunteers had a really lekker lunch!
Here started the trip along the childhood memories of Annabell and Adrian:
They were shocked to discover that their old campsite had become somewhat run-down and, for example, the old restaurant was now a meadow.
After that, the volunteers really wanted to see the beach but got trapped by the (actually) preditable rain. They did not give up and, armed with some kind of rain gear, finally reached the sea, blessed by the unpredictable and yet much appreciated sun! ☀️
Annabell and Adrian promised Giulio and Ilenia to bring them to their favourite childhood pancake house later in the day - BUT it was shockingly already fully booked :(
ONCE AGAIN they didn’t give up💪
And found a really cozy pancake house in the lovely Katwijk instead😌🥞✨
All’s well that ends well ~

It’s May, which means new volunteers have arrived 🥳
Let’s introduce Giulio, who is based in Zoetermeer! “My name is Giulio, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Italy.
I love to stay with the other people and this year I decided to dedicate a part of my life to make me useful for the other people who needs my contribute and to make, with mine same contribute, a world in a better place with small and easy social actions.
I’m looking forward to discover better the evolution of this new wonderful experience and know better the Dutch culture.” 📸 & 🎵selected by volunteer - design by Annabell

Yesterday, the volunteers celebrated King’s Day 🇳🇱🧡✨

Koningsdag (King’s Day) is the national holiday of the Netherlands, celebrated every year on April 27th in honor of King Willem-Alexander’s birthday. It’s a day full of orange outfits, music, markets, and community spirit all across the country. We celebrated this special day and had an amazing time full of joy. A day to remember! 🧡

Last weekend in The Hague the volunteers came together for the Mid Term Training✨ A weekend full of inspiring people, meaningful reflections, new perspectives, and unforgettable stories. We shared thoughts on culture, faith, and our journey so far and also reflected on our personal growth and competences for the Youthpass 🌍💭

A new chapter begins for so many of us. We are ready 💪🏋️.

Some volunteers are wrapping up their projects, others are stepping into the second phase of their volunteer journey, and we are also welcoming new faces to the team in May. Here are our volunteers (except for Annabell) from Zoetermeer, together with mentors Sigi and Marta.

Wishing everyone success, growth, and wonderful experiences in the next step of their lives!

In our previous post, Annabell explained how the healthcare system is organised. In this post, Elisa shows how this support works in daily life for people with different needs.

Everyone receiving long-term care has a zorgplan — a personalised care plan developed together by the care organisation, the client, and often their family. This plan is tailored to the person’s wishes, needs, and goals, including meaningful daily activities that bring structure, purpose, and enjoyment. 🌿

In this post, Elisa gives us a look inside a day care facility and shows how these care plans are put into practice in a warm and supportive environment. 🤝

📖 Read Elisa’s statement and discover how personalised care can make a meaningful difference every day: “Sharing a little bit about myself and turning it into a fun, interactive quiz at the end. 😊 An example of how we create engaging activities together at the daycare!” - Elisa
