"Old Ships. New Purpose."

We took a 40-year-old ship. And gave it a brand new life in Africa.
Most people would have scrapped her.
I saw something different.
She was sitting in a European port. Outdated for Western trade routes.
Too expensive to upgrade for EU operations and regulations.
Destined for the breakers.
But for a river operator in Africa?
She was perfect.
✅ Shallow draft — ideal for river navigation
✅ Simple diesel engines — easy to maintain with local skills
✅ Large cargo hold — exactly what the route needed
✅ Priced right — within the operator's budget
We negotiated the purchase.
Arranged the survey.
Coordinated transport through 3 countries.
Supervised reassembly on the riverbank.
Today she carries cargo that feeds communities.
Every single week.
A "worthless" ship in Europe.
A lifeline in Africa.
This is why I do what I do.

Behind the Scenes of a Ship Deal

I just closed a ship deal.
Here's exactly what happened — step by step.

Most people think buying a ship is like buying a car.
It's not. Not even close.

Here's what a real S&P brokerage transaction looks like from my side of the table:

📋 Week 1-2: The Brief
The client tells me what they need. Not just the vessel type — the route, the cargo, the ports, the draft restrictions. Every detail matters.

🔍 Week 3-4: The Search
I work my network. Global brokers, ship owners, online databases. Dozens of candidates are reviewed. Maybe 5 make the shortlist.

🔬 Week 5-6: Due Diligence
Class records. Survey reports. Flag state certificates. Engine logs. I dig into everything. One overlooked document can cost a client millions.

🤝 Week 7-8: Negotiation
Price is just the beginning. Payment terms, delivery date, condition on delivery, crew — all of it is on the table.

✅ Week 9-10: Closing & Delivery
MOA signed. Funds secured. Vessel delivered. For African clients — sometimes this means coordinating transport across multiple countries.

Total time: 10 weeks.

Total value protected for my client: significant.

That's what a good broker does.
We don't just find ships. We protect your investment.

Export to Africa (Pain Points)

Exporting to Africa? Here's what nobody tells you.
I've been working African trade routes for years.
And I still see the same mistakes being made — over and over again.
Here are the 5 things most exporters get wrong:
1. Treating Africa as one market 🌍
Africa is 54 countries. 54 different regulatory environments, port conditions, and buyer behaviors. What works in Lagos won't work in Dar es Salaam.

2. Underestimating last-mile logistics 🚛
Getting cargo to the port is step 1. Getting it to the buyer — sometimes across 3 borders and a river — is where deals fall apart.

3. Ignoring inland waterways 🚢
Roads are slow. Rivers are underused. The right vessel on the right waterway can cut delivery time dramatically.

4. Working without local knowledge 🤝
Relationships matter more in African trade than anywhere else I've worked. You need a partner on the ground, not just a shipping agent behind a screen.

5. Thinking short-term 📈
Africa's middle class is growing. Infrastructure is being built. The exporters winning now are the ones who planted seeds 5 years ago.

I help companies avoid these mistakes every day.

Have you exported to Africa before? What surprised you most? ⬇️

Africa's hidden highways. Nobody talks about them.

When people think about African trade, they think about ports.
Mombasa. Lagos. Durban.

But some of the most important trade routes in Africa have nothing to do with the ocean.

🌊 The Congo River — 14,000+ km of navigable waterways. Feeds trade across Central Africa.
🌊 Lake Victoria — Shared by Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania. Fishing, cargo, passengers.
🌊 Lake Tanganyika — One of the world's deepest lakes. Critical for DRC & Burundi trade.
🌊 Lake Malawi — The economic lifeline of a landlocked nation.

These aren't tourist destinations.
They are economic infrastructure.

And they are massively underserved with proper vessels.

That's the opportunity I work in every day.
Connecting ship owners, investors, and African operators to make inland maritime trade work.

The question isn't if Africa's inland shipping will grow.
It's who will be ready when it does.

Are you involved in African trade? Let's connect. 🤝

What is S&P Brokerage?

Most people have never heard of S&P Brokerage.
Here's why it matters — especially for Africa.

S&P stands for Sales & Purchase.
It's the process of buying and selling ships. And it's far more complex than it sounds.

When a company in Africa needs a vessel — for river trade, lake transport, or coastal operations — they rarely know where to start.

That's where I come in.

Here's my 4-step process:

🔍 FIND — I search global markets for the right vessel at the right price
📋 EVALUATE — Technical inspection, documentation, flag state compliance
🤝 NEGOTIATE — Price, terms, delivery conditions — I protect your interests
🚢 DELIVER — Logistics, transport, even reassembly if needed

The difference between a good broker and a great one?
Knowing what happens after the deal is signed.

Especially in Africa, where "delivery" can mean crossing 3 borders by truck.

Questions about the process? Ask me below. ⬇️

How do you deliver a ship to a country with no ocean?

Most people think "shipping" requires ocean access. They're wrong.
Some of my most complex — and most valuable — transactions involve countries that are completely landlocked.
No sea. No problem.
Here's how it actually works:
🔹 A vessel is sourced and purchased through S&P brokerage
🔹 Dismantled or transported in sections overland
🔹 Reassembled on a river, lake, or inland waterway
🔹 Deployed on critical inland trade routes

The Congo River. Lake Victoria. Lake Tanganyika. Lake Malawi.
These aren't just rivers lakes. These are highways. Billion-dollar trade arteries — and they need vessels.

Africa doesn't lack ambition. It lacks maritime partners who understand the full picture.
That's exactly what I deliver.

🇬🇧 We know who's buying right now. Do you?
This is the part of S&P brokerage that doesn't show up in any listing database.

Who is actively in the market. What type of tonnage they're looking for. What their budget actually is — not what they say publicly. Who just closed a deal and is already looking at the next one. Who has been watching a specific segment for months and is close to pulling the trigger.

That intelligence is built over decades of conversations, transactions, and relationships. It's not something you can Google.

When you work with us, you're not just getting a broker. You're getting access to a network that took over 30 years to build.

Thinking about buying or selling? The conversation starts here.
