Insurance Basics - What amount of Insurance do I need?
With so many options and slight variations, it can be very hard to determine which type of insurance you need and which policies are best for you. So let's look at the basics in this quick overview.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Everybody, whether you're just starting out in life, as a beautiful new born or whether you are celebrating 40 years of marriage, we all need health insurance.
It's important to note that health insurance is not just for people with a high risk of health issues, pre-existing conditions or history of family illnesses, since we can all get sick or injured. Therefore to give yourself peace of mind and to keep your family safe, getting health insurance is absolutely important.
LIFE INSURANCE
Unlike health insurance, the need for life insurance is very depended on your personal situation. Children usually don't need life insurance coverage, unless in some very unique situations, that we will discuss in a separate article. This would normally also apply to people between 18 and 25 years old, with a few exceptions. If you are a home owner, have started a family or have anyone depend on you, then you probably want to make sure your financial situation is in good health, if something wore to happen to you.
HOMEOWNERS/RENTERS INSURANCE
With this we mean any type of space you inhabit, house, condo's, mobile homes etc. When damage occurs to your home it can have a sever impact on your mental and/or physical health. Next to this it is not always clear who is responsible and might take while to get resolved. With this being your home, it can be very distressing and the right insurance will give you peace of mind as well as as quickly resolving the situation.
The other type of insurances you will probably want to have are, travel insurance and car insurance. That is of course if you own a vehicle.
These five types of insurances, form the bases of most people's lives and will give you great peace of mind. The main question you need to answer now is where to get each policy? This and many more question we will answer for you.
Have a great day!
