Happy Independence Day Nigeria 🇳🇬!

29/09/2026

Port Harcourt has seen some serious flooding this past week, and it’s a reminder that keeping our environment clean is everyone’s responsibility.

We can’t control the rain, but we can control what we throw on the streets.

Plastic bottles, cans, nylon and other waste can end up blocking our drainage systems and making an already difficult situation worse.

So, before you throw it away, think twice.

With SoSoCare, recyclable waste can have value beyond the bin, it can contribute to your journey towards healthcare access.

Let’s keep Port Harcourt clean.
Let’s protect our environment.
Let’s turn waste into something useful.

Waste has value. Don’t throw it away.
Recycle for healthcare!

One of the biggest environmental challenges we face in Nigeria is the culture of dumping waste indiscriminately. From plastic bottles and nylon bags to food waste and other household refuse, it is not uncommon to see waste piled up along roadsides, drainage channels and open spaces.

But the truth is, our environment is a reflection of our everyday choices.

When we throw waste on the street because there is no bin nearby, someone else eventually has to deal with the consequences. Blocked drainage, flooding, unpleasant surroundings, pollution and health risks are not problems that affect one person alone, they affect entire communities.

This is why Sosocare is providing waste bins for recycling in communities, making it easier for people to dispose of their waste responsibly instead of dumping it on the streets.

We believe keeping our communities clean should not be a once-in-a-while activity. It should become a habit and a shared responsibility.

So, the next time you have a plastic bottle, or other recyclable waste in your hand, don’t throw it on the street. Look for a bin. Recycle it. Keep your environment clean.

Because a cleaner community begins with one person making a better choice.

What if the waste you throw away could help pay for your healthcare? ♻️

With Sosocare, your recyclables can become more than just waste. Pet bottles, plastics, rubber, iron, aluminium and other recyclable materials can be exchanged to support your healthcare needs.

So, the next time you’re about to throw that bottle or piece of plastic away, pause and think: “How much could this be worth towards my healthcare?”

Turn your recyclables into value. Turn waste into an opportunity for better healthcare. 🌍🩺

Don’t just throw it away. Recycle it.

Happy World Cleanup Day!

Yesterday, Sosocare, alongside our amazing partners, took action at Oil Mill Market as part of our commitment to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable communities.

This year’s World Cleanup Day theme, “Food Waste” calls attention to one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. Food waste not only represents wasted resources but also contributes to environmental pollution and the growing burden on our waste management systems.

Together, we rolled up our sleeves, engaged with the community, and contributed to keeping our environment cleaner, because meaningful change begins with collective action.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible partners TotalEnergies Nigeria Wema Bank Laboratory in Port Harcourt CareCova by SosoCare GINETS Studios Rivers State Waste Management Agency and Waste Management Association Of Nigeria, for standing with us and making this initiative possible. Your commitment to sustainability, community impact, and a cleaner environment is truly appreciated.

We believe that when businesses, organisations, communities, and individuals come together, we can turn awareness into action and create lasting impact.

Let’s continue to reduce food waste, dispose of waste responsibly, and make conscious choices that protect our environment.

One cleaner community at a time.
