FEAR: IT EFFECTS ON MANKIND

If there is one thing that we need to embrace or overcome in our life, one thing that keeps us outstanding among others,

one thing that bring about inferiority complexes, one thing that give us blessings above our counterparts, one thing that limits us from being blessed, it is Fear.
Fear is a feeling of anxiety concerning the outcome of something or the safety of someone.
In human, fear is modulated by the process of perception and learning. Thus, we can say fear is judged as rational (appropriate) or irrational (inappropriate). An inappropriate fear is what we call phobia.

The word fear occurred many time in the bible and it was so because it is one word that can initiate wisdom, help build our self-esteem as well as threaten our destiny if not courteously guided. Whether it is a good fear or a bad kind, fear is often determined by the setting in which the word is used. In 1 Peter 2:17, we read, “Honor all men; love the brotherhood; fear God.” Fear in that verse is used in the good sense. It is the godly, reverential fear. In 1 John 4:18, we read, “Perfect love casteth out fear.” Fear, in that verse, is used in the bad sense. Perfect love does not cast out all fear—not innate fears, nor reverential fear—but the unwholesome and carnal kinds of fear are dispelled by true love for the Lord. Although fear is a common experience of modern life that we just can’t avoid. Our jobs are often at stake, marriages are under stress, our academics are not balanced, and our loved ones struggle with social pressures they could not even have imagined. Let’s face it, the world generally is a dangerous place. So, as long as there is the desire to be something there must be fear. Although there are many ways human fears can be reduced but the bible remains the utmost source of comfort in those troubled times when we are overwhelmed by fear.

The self is the root of all fear. To inhibit or suppress fear is not to transcend it; it cause must be self-discovered and so understood and dissolved through the help of the holy spirit, mental therapy etc.
The effects fear has on humanity can be beneficial and also detrimental.
The bible clearly stated in psalms 111:10 that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

.. This is one of the beneficial aspect of fear on mankind. Likewise, Proverbs 1:7 said similar thing—Then fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. This doesn’t mean that we are subjected to irrational phobias, but it is a way of total reverence to God through the help of the holy spirit. Reverential fear helps us to desist from evil and act rightly—Proverbs 16:6 and when we do that, we begin to experience God’s perfect wisdom upon us.
Fear is inversely proportional to your faith. Fear is a way of thinking, that causes you to focus on the consequence of failure or an unwanted result, preventing you from taking action. This was what happened in Numbers 13: 31—33 when Moses sent 12 Spies, except the fearful fellow came back with evil report because their heart were filled with fear when they visited the land. On the the contrary, Caleb and Joshua exercised faith mentality which is a way of thinking that causes you to focus on the reward of obedience or the favorable outcome of a situation. Consistently being in the presence of God will embolden one’s faith.
Faith—in the absence of fear, will embolden the individual to take action because of their trust in God.
The disciples of Jesus faced the fear of persecution, during and after His lifetime. Sometimes they succumb to their fear but often, their faith saw them through and enabled them deal with sometimes violent opposition to their new faith.

Carnal Fear.
Carnal fear is a senseless dread and a nagging anxiety. This kind fear that is always evil, and takes advantage of our vital potentials
It is the fear expressed by Adam in Genesis 3:10 when he had sinned. Adam ran and hid himself, and when he was asked why he was hiding, he said, “Because I was afraid”
This is the kind of fear the devil uses to bring down God’s children.

Innate Fear:
This kind of fear is a normal God-given emotion. God has built into each of us an instinctive fight and flight system which is designed to protect us from harm— from drunken drivers, hardened criminals, lateness to exam hall, and fierce storms. These are normal fears which are necessary for our protection, and for the preservation of life and betterment of Humanity. Fear is the greatest teacher of all time in that it keeps you active. It helps you prepare for an exam so as not to fail. It helps you practice good hygiene in order not to fall sick etc.

Detrimental effects/Impacts of fear on mankind
Insensitive to opportunities
Inferiority complexes
Threaten your health
Weakens your prayer and social life
Death: this may be as a result of ill-health, depression, poverty, joblessness, failure in exams etc

How to overcome our fear

We came overcome fears by learning about the power of love—1 John 4:18-19
By confessing our since and allow God to lead us—1 John 1:9
Assume your sonship position—Romans 8:15
Understand the power of His word—Hebrews 4:12
Develop self confidence—Philippians 4:13

There will be no room to accommodate the harvest yielded by the mind if it is conceived on mere dreams with no effort to back it up in order for it to become a reality. Man is a complex being that possess a distinctive ability to receive, process and give out a more coordinated results than any other being or machine, and so possess a limitless growth. Growth which is a progression from simpler to more advance form of life means that you continue to improve in every of your doings, craving for the best among those who settle for the less, becoming optimistic, and doing different thing that you haven’t done before. Biologically, growth is an irreversible increase in size of an organism. Regarding it to human, we undergo series of changes from the day of conception till the day of death. This changes we undergo may be genetic or acquired but must persist although his lifetime
In life, we grow positively and negatively in health, finances, spiritually, family, socially and in career wise. “Zig Ziglar said, I believe that growth means having a balance of success stories across the many areas of your life. You can't truly be considered successful in your spiritual or career life if your family life is in shambles. How true! So someone seeking growth without stoppage should be willing to undergo growth in other sphere of he/her life. Our utmost growth in whatever endeavor of our life is hinged majorly on our mind, your mind first conceive it before it finally come to materialize. Napoleon Hill said, Desire; the starting point of all growth and achievement. Having an unending drive to learn and grow without obsession triggers your hormonal endorphin which in turn gives eustress, a feeling of happiness and mental alertness that may further initiate “a must grow spirit automatically”. Age and family background are not criteria when growth is involved, yes they may be a hastening factor as it will save you the stress of passing through some difficulty(ies) but aren’t a dominating factor.

Spiritual Growth: Before one can grow in other aspect of life, spiritual growth should be made paramount. Your ability to settle things in the spiritual realm makes you victorious physically as it is believe that every bit of thing happening in the physical has a domain in the spiritual. unlimited growth and development spiritually can be achieved in a Christian perspective by constantly having good and quite time with the holy spirit who teaches you to observe all thing accordingly, by constantly studying God’s Word and fervent in your prayer life. But majority of Christians this days fails to understand this simple pattern of increment in life due to ignorant or lack of awareness has caused
Financial growth: It’s without dispute that virtually everyone have strong desire to get rich and thereafter tending to become financially independent. Financial increment is not just about making the money you want to be in your possession, it is capitally anchored on how far you’ve prepared your mind to handle it even before the money arrives, and the laid down strategy and rules you’ve put in place to sustain it for lifetime. Financial freedom cannot be achieve if your innermost subconscious mind is “spending-philiic” such that whatever amount that enters your hand, you would want to spend it up before realizing that you need to invest in, and as such you could prevent the bird of sorrow from flying over head but couldn’t prevent it from building nest over your head. No wonder Paretto principle of 80/20 rule is still in application. Financial discipline is a core or basic to financial growth.

Family Growth: is another crucial aspect of human life that cannot be neglected because it plays a success determining role in one’s life. The common saying; charity begins at home is true to a high degree because in whatever growth you may aspire to get, cheers, love and support from your family is one drive that propel you to go extra miles to do exploit in life. In contrast, if your family is in jeopardy and shamble, you tend be weak in most thing that you would want to do (but it’s not a major factor). Family growth without limitation should be made a culture in every home alongside characteristic principles that must be often adhere to.

Career Growth : It has been proven that in any career one chooses, it takes seven years of total commitment and dedication to become a renowned professional in it if you can sacrifice a minimum of two hours daily for it. Sound untrue right? You may be acquainted to it such that you begin to find it very easy to do as a daily routine engagement, but that doesn’t make you a professional yet until it becomes something that is imbibe into you that you cannot make a din of mistake in even when it comes up impromptu.

To grow your career life, one should be willing to give your time for it, be ready to accept correction because mistakes are inevitable, and studious about everything related to the field of your career choice.
Growth in life is always dynamic and do not cease if you never stop being auto inspired or being inspired by the Holy spirit.
