Think about it.
You start a job with a basic salary, you are so excited that at least you have a job, and at the end of the month, you get a credit alert in your bank account.
In the next three months, you are looking for more money, because it seems as if the entire universe now knows that you have money and your “wants” suddenly increase.
Before you know it, you’ve finished spending the money before the salary even comes.
“Oh I really like this bag, I’ll get it by the end of the month when I get my salary”
“Oh this Samsung Galaxy note 2 is not bad o, I’m tired of this Blackberry, I will get it by the end of the month”
On the 26th, you get the credit alert from GTB.
On the 27th, you pay for the bag.
28th, you pay for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
29th, you send pocket money to your younger sisters.
30th, you service your car.
31st, you go shopping for some food stuff and personal effects.
By this time, the money don finish.
Not finish as per zero naira remaining, but you now have to manage what is left and be cautious about what you spend on.
The new month is just starting…and you are already broke.
In your mind, you are like “I need to earn some more money, I can’t continue like this”
You start to think about getting a new job that will pay you more money or a promotion.
Whether you get a new job or a promotion, this “looking for money” cycle can never end because of something I learnt in secondary school in Economics class. *Now wearing my efiko glasses*
