The ICPC says its investigation found that the appointment letter presented by Adeniyi Adeyemi Mathew as head of the alleged Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) was forged and did not originate from the Presidency.

According to ICPC Chairman Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, the commission also found that PFIPC was never legally established, no Federal Government funds were released to it, and neither the State House nor the CBN was found to have weaknesses in their systems.

The commission recommended Adeyemi's prosecution and said investigations into his activities, bank accounts and alleged collaborators are ongoing.

Ghana’s annual inflation rate eased to 4.6% in July 2026, down from 5.3% recorded in June, marking the first slowdown in consumer price growth since March.

The latest figure was announced on Thursday by Government Statistician Alhassan Iddrisu, who attributed the moderation in inflation to easing food prices and stable exchange rate conditions.

The decline represents a significant improvement from the 12.1% inflation rate recorded in July 2025, underscoring Ghana’s continued recovery from its most severe economic crisis in decades.
