Our CEO Jerry OCHE will be speaking at the Africa Food Safety Forum - AFSF 2026 in Kigali 31 August to 4 September, 2026.

He joins “Shaping Finance for Inclusive Food Systems,” hosted by Mercy Corps AgriFin, to discuss why innovative capital still struggles to reach farmers and last-mile enterprises, and what has to exist between capital and a farmer before capital can move.

It’s the question Zowasel is built around: verified farm data, alternative credit assessment for borrowers without traditional credit files, traceability, and market access that makes repayment real.

This week, the Zowasel Program Team, under the ongoing Sorghum Value Chain Program, hosted the IDH Agronomist Consultant on a field supervision visit to one of its project locations in Iporin, Eastern Kwara State. The visit assessed sorghum demo plots and evaluated farmers’ adoption of best agronomic practices and RegenAg principles.

The team reviewed crop growth stages, Climate-Smart Adoption strategies, and plant spacing standards, while navigating the effects of drought that tested the resilience of both the crops and the farming community. Thanks to our Crop Pilot MRV Weather Advisory system, farmers received timely advisory guidance to support their response.

Despite these challenges, the visit reaffirmed the impact of consistent agronomic training and field support in driving sustainable farming outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years’ experience in trade/structured finance, banking, or development finance, with deep knowledge of CBN regulations, AML/CFT/CPF, and NDPA 2023.
