Zowasel Green Field Day 2025
As part of our commitment to driving sustainable sorghum farming in Southwest Nigeria, the Zowasel Sorghum Value Chain Team hosted a landmark Green Field Day at our Demonstration Farm in Iseyin, Oyo State. The event brought together smallholder farmers, lead farmers, extension agents, cooperatives, community leaders, and key project stakeholders to showcase climate-smart and regenerative agricultural practices.
Participants took part in hands-on demonstrations covering sorghum cultivation, crop rotation with cowpea and soybean, cashew seedling propagation, and the application of improved seeds and blended fertilizers. The day also highlighted our innovative tool, CropPilot MRV, which supports farmers with real-time agronomic recommendations, digital record-keeping, crop monitoring, weather insights, and precision farming guidance. In addition, strategies for cost-efficient precision farming, leveraging climate and weather advisory tools, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and digital extension services, were demonstrated to enhance farmers’ decision-making and productivity.
By fostering practical learning and collaboration, the Green Field Day strengthened farmers’ capacity to adopt sustainable practices that restore soil health, boost yields, and build resilient farming communities.
