Greatest Lemacites,

Time consciousness is very vital where destiny is concerned. Every man who sets out to shine in life and in 2015 must understand this.

Understanding of times and season keeps you in charge of your destiny. Every shining star knows this.

When you cannot measure your time, it becomes difficult, extremely difficult to manage your life. Even David prayed, “Teach us to number (measure) our days that we may apply our heart unto wisdom (Manage)”. We all must wake up to pray this prayer on a daily basis so we don’t live foolishly.

The currency of life is time. Unfortunately, time flies and so life is short

Life is about seed time and harvest time. When a man misses the seed time, he automatically loses his harvest

Every man that must shine this year knows that this is the time to plant.

If you don’t understand the time, you will misplant and misbehave in the race of destiny.

We all are stars .To shine this year, you must give diligence to understand what it takes to shine in your chosen race or career

Not every runner win the prize but he who takes time to research and discovers what it takes to win shines even where the competition is stiff.

Life is not fun. Life is a serious business. Nobody guessing in life ever makes it. Your step must be definite and so your result will be sure. Know where you are going on time and start going there

Celebrity in the race of life knows where they belong on time and stick there

You must go where you are going now and keep going there

There is a season for stardom and in most cases you only shine once.

Timely discovery of what to do with your life is the security of your stardom

Don’t just make a living this year, make an impact, only stars make impact

We don’t make impact because we are late riser. The early you rise, the early you shine

Your packaging must be visionary;

Men of vision are disciplined, tenacious and persevering

Carelessness will trap your destiny and kill your star

Make quality investment into your life this year

The quality of your investment determines the height of your accomplishment

Your best investment this year should be into you. Stars knows this, you are the most valuable

asset in your destiny race. Nothing gets better until you get better

What is your passion? What is your talent? They are pointer to your stardom

Whatever you do this year, be the star

If you are a banker, be the star banker

If you are a pastor, be the star Pastor

If you are a musician, be the star musician

Don’t allow time to run out on you

Don’t just be a fa, be a star

Don’t just take in 2015, give

Don’t just receive this year, give to others

Don’t just acquire possession this year, add value

What announces a man is not his possession but his contribution

Destiny is about fulfillment of mission. Identifying your vision and making it work

It’s not about status, it’s not about position, it’s about contribution

Find a starting point and find it now

It takes professional approach to become a star. Approach your race professionally this year and you are on your way to stardom

You will be celebrated

If you must move forward, you must take actions, life is not about intentions, it’s about taking actions. You must dare to make mistakes. The price of inaction is far greater than the cost of making a mistake. The truth is your failure only takes you a step further closer to success - Femi Adediran, December 2014

You have gone so low because you are going so high. You have been downtrodden because you are on your way to the throne. The struggle is because of your glory - Femi Adediran, December 2014

If you must change your life, you must start immediately! Just take a step forward - Femi Adediran, December 2014

Greatest Lemacites,
2015 is a year to move forward regardless of your experience in 2014. And I dare challenge you to move forward in the New Year.

If you must move forward in the New Year you must put the past where it belongs…THE PAST…The past belongs to no other place but the past. You must put your failure, success, disappointment and breakthrough of 2014 behind you. The past is a dead horse, there is no point flogging it

You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one - Michael McMillan

If you must move forward, your resolution must be NO GOING BACK…NO LOOKING BACK…NO GOING SIDEWAYS…NO GOING DOWN…even when you make mistakes, don’t quit. Forward is the place to go.

Life is like riding a bicycle, you are either on the move or you fall off.

Man maintain his balance, poise and sense of security only as he is moving forward-Maxwell Poise

If you must move forward, you must be happy . You must make deliberate choice to be happy daily. Life is too short for prolonged sadness.

If you must move forward, you must forgive. You must forgive yourself, you must forgive others, you must forgive the situation, you must forgive your shortcomings, you must forgive your friends, you must forgive your enemies. You must forgive wholeheartedly, you must forgive unreservedly. Unforviginess slows you down and will eventually bring you to a halt if you don’t deal with it now . And if you must forgive, you must let go and to let go, you must let God help you.

If you must move forward you must be tirelessly grateful, there are people who did not make it to where you are at the moment they could have been you.

If you must move forward, find your purpose NOW; nothing gives speed in life as discovery of purpose.

I f you must move forward, don’t wait too long on people, take your destiny in your own hands

If you must move forward be sure you are really moving because not all motion translates to movement so you don’t end up in a cycle.

If you must move forward, you must change your mentality, because what you eventually get out of life is a product of your mental release

If you must move forward, don’t be jealous of anybody because what God has for you can only be for you

If you must move forward, you must take actions, life is not about intentions, it’s about taking actions. You must dare to make mistakes. The price of inaction is far greater than the cost making a mistake. The truth is your failure only takes you a step further closer to success.

If you can’t fly then run,
If you can’t run then walk,
If you can’t walk, then crawl,
But whatever you do you have to keep moving forward- Martin Luther King Jnr

If you must move forward, you must close your eyes to what has been done; see what remains to be done

It is not death that a man should fear but he should fear never beginning to live - Marcus Aurelius (121-180, Roman emperor)

How bad your past is, is an indication of the beauty of your future. If a building must go high up then the foundation must go deep down. Come out of your past and step into your future. Celebrate like never before. Laugh your way to the reality of your dreams in 2015.

You have gone so low because you are going so high. You have been downtrodden because you are on your way to the throne. The struggle is because of your glory.

If you must evaluate and appraise yourself, do it quickly and move on quickly. Time is of essence.

If you must change your life, you must start immediately! Just take a step forward

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year advance

Best,
Femi Adediran

FEW NUGGETS HERE AND THERE

Dear Jack,

'Tis that season again. The season of Christmas. It’s the season of love and joy, and goodwill to all men. What I want to do in this letter is bring to your remembrance some of the things we shared in the course of the year. I do hope you’ve bought the gift for your wife. Make it something special for her. Well, here are the nuggets from our discussions this year. Enjoy!

Take responsibility for your life, take responsibility for your acts, take responsibility for your ventures.

The essence of the physical is attraction. But without character, values and emotional balance a marriage hardly stands a chance.

The most significant value in a relationship or marriage is trust. Don't violate trust. A very successful and happy marriage requires total commitment on both sides.

The biggest fundamental in a relationship is peace. Without peace there can be no happiness.

Just the feeling of being loved somnambulates. You feel peace, happiness, contentment and wellbeing. When a home is peaceful it is noise insulated from the stress on the streets of life.

If you don't appreciate what you have you'll lust after the things others have. Be content. If you want to be happy in life learn contentment. Contentment is a decision. Contentment is about being satisfied and being gratified with the woman you have.

Now, it may seem some people have effortless success, but move closer and you'll see it's an illusion. If it looks excellent on stage there's unimaginable energy and obsessive attention to detail behind the scene. It's the ultimate pose to make hard work seem effortless. It's art, but it doesn't take away from the hard work. No success comes without hardwork, however smart you work.

Too many people are looking for grand breaks in life, but the little breaks create the doorknob to the grand break.

Relationships are powerful equations. They command a direct effect on our vocation or professional calling.

There are relationships you must cut off once you marry. Especially relationships with high passion potential.

In the search for a woman several things weigh on the mind. There are wants and there are needs.

A lonely man is vulnerable.

If there's nothing you learn about God know this: his mercy always triumphs over dogma.

Solomon says the only thing headier than wine is love. Now you understand why young men in love talk expansively.

When you know who you want to become you'll know who you should date or not date.

When you meet that woman you just know she's the one.

There's more to life than the past.

With or without a child a marriage subsists. The child is a blessing - an addition. It is NOT the definition of the marriage.

There are things only a woman can give you. Extraordinary issues of life emanate from her core.

You're going to marry a woman not a body. You've got to look beyond the body.

Relationships require work. How much effort you put in indicates how much you want your marriage.

Making a woman's heart say yes isn't enough; you have to bring the moment back after you marry her.

A good start does not imply a good finish. There's a lot in between.

Go for authenticity. Imagery must be backed with substance.

Marriage is a faith adventure…You’ll never control all the variables.

If you don’t see happiness down the line re-evaluate your relationship. The issues are always apparent during courtship.

If it’s not looking good, if you have no peace, if it’s debilitating or distressing, please rethink. BUT, if she’s THE ONE - everything will seem so organic, effortless. It would seem you’ve known her forever.

Love your wife. Affirm her. Believe in her. Support her. Allow her be.

What many have not realized is, whatever you want in a relationship is what you’ve got to give.

Be careful what you say to her, and how you say it. Words mean a lot to a woman.

Don’t father what you can’t provide for.

Marriage is a continuous self-improvement course. It’s a lifetime school.

Love is important in a marriage. Very important. Very, very important. Very, very, very important.

Choice is not always easy. It can get complicated with things like lust, desires, ambition and vanity. Don’t allow anyone choose a wife for you. They’ll be choosing THEIR taste in women. They can’t know your secret taste. Marry the woman you consider beautiful and whom you’re attracted to. Don’t ignore the physical.

Beauty is a wonderful coincidence of genes. The real judge of a person is character.

A woman determines the quality of life a man has.

If you want to live big time you work big time!

Put a knife to your throat, sheath your organ. Stop being reckless with s*x and consumption.

If you want love give love. That's the law of life. What we want we must give.

It's okay to be vulnerable with a loved one, with someone whose love cannot be doubted, whose commitment is unassailable.

When friendship breaks down in a marriage, pretty much else fail to hold. Friendship is soul glue.

What eventually decides the success of a marriage are the non physical attributes - values, disposition, character.

Process your wife's actions through the prism of her character. Avoid communication dead ends, where discussions terminate. They're dangerous in a relationship.

Every time you fall, stand up and run after God. God is not condemnatory. We are!

I wish you a very wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

Your mentor, LA

All you have of life is time and you don’t know how much time you have left, that is why you only give your time to what is worth your life to you- Femi Adediran, December 2014

There are some job places where you are hardly paid anything and if you have not set up other revenue streams, money is bound to be your mission. You will be prone to stealing, cheating and unfaithfulness especially when you have severely pressing needs- Femi Adediran, December 2014

When your revenue stream is very limited, money becomes your motivation for every decision and you are for grab to the highest bidder - Femi Adediran, December 2014

You must get to a point where you are not motivated or led by money but by value creation. At this point you don’t make decision based on how much you are getting but how much of you or possession you are able to give. You do things simply because it’s your passion, it excites you, it’s in your spirit, because it motivates you. You must increase your revenue stream to get to this point.- Femi Adediran, December 2014

Your greatest frustration is not using your embedded resources- Femi Adediran, December 2014

You are only limited by your own creativity- Femi Adediran, December 2014

Greatest Lemacites,
As you journey into 2015, please note with serious emphasis that MONEY IS NOT YOUR MISSION. You are not in this world to primarily look for money but to fulfill a define purpose.

Money is not your mission in life. Money only funds your mission

When you think money is your mission, frustration is the ultimate feeling whenever you think you are not properly renumerated for whatever reason

Your job is not supposed to be your only revenue stream. Other streams must compliment your earnings if you must not become frustrated eventually.

There are some job places where you are hardly paid anything and if you have not set up other revenue streams, money is bound to be your mission. You will be prone to stealing, cheating and unfaithfulness especially when you have severely pressing needs.

When your revenue stream is very limited, money becomes your motivation for every decision and you are for grab to the highest bidder.

Until you increase your revenue stream, you are not able to separate money from your mission in life.

Money can put you in tight corner where you lose focus of and/or grip on every other thing else. You miss building great relationships; you lose touch with your loved ones and you are never there when you are mostly needed.

To know the streams of revenue available to you, look at your gifting, your natural ability first of all. If you haven’t run out of gift/talent, you haven’t run out of streams. Every gift/talent you have is a stream of income

Don’t let people compartmentalize you. Once people know you’ve got an expertise in one thing, they summarize your life base on that and want that to be sum total of all you do

Identify all your gifts, you have gifting, you have talents. They are streams

You can sing, you can write, you can smile. Your smile could win you an award

God has deposited too many gifting inside of you so you could draw from them. You are at nobody’s mercy. Until you run out of gifting/talent, you don’t run out of stream

Your job is only one stream. Stop expecting your job to form your vision. Your vision is bigger than your paycheck.
You had better diversify your stream or you won’t be able to maintain your garden. You will be overly worried about the money.

You misuse your mission because you are overly worried about money.

You must get to a point where you are not motivated or led by money but by value creation. At this point you don’t make decision based on how much you are getting but how much of you or possession you are able to give. You do things simply because it’s your passion, it excites you, it’s in your spirit, because it motivates you. You must increase your revenue stream to get to this point.

You need to develop an extracurricular income that does not eat into your time because your time is premium.

Your time is a premium product as you set up other streams of income because all you have of life is time. Look for other streams of income that does not eat up your time and consequently your life

The first place to look for extra income is your gifting/talent

Look for nontraditional gifting/talent, some make money from their beautiful fingers, some it is their eyes, for others it is their beautiful smiles, voice or personality

Anything you do well is a stream. Don’t let people lock you down to one stream

You are only limited by your own creativity

You may be called a doctor; you could be a great speaker.

There are things in you, you haven’t use yet

Your greatest frustration is not using your embedded resources

Identify the streams in you, market the stream, and don’t pr******te your time. Use your stream

All you have of life is time and you don’t know how much time you have left, that is why you only give your time to what is worth your life to you.

Make sure you get maximum return on investment of your time spiritually, economically, emotionally and in all areas in the New Year.

Happy New Year in advance. Do have a beautiful week ahead

Best,

Why We Could Not Defeat Boko Haram"- Army Commander Writes A Powerful Letter To President Jonathan

In a desperate letter to President Goodluck Jonathan and Senate President David Mark leaked to SaharaReporters this past weekend, a commanding officer stationed in Nigeria's northeast details several troubling issues plaguing troops combatting Islamist terror group Boko Haram in the region. President Goodluck Jonathan

The officer stated that, corruption, maladministration, lack of resources and troops motivation has militated against a successful campaign to end Boko Haram's deadly reign of terror in the northeast.

The officer's lengthy complaint which he claims would lead to a threat to his life forewarns that if his pleas continue to be ignored by the country's leadership that both the Nigerian Army and the country will crumble under the insurgency.

"If all issues raised in this letter are not urgently addressed, the Nigerian Army will soon be history and by implication there will be no country called Nigeria," the officer gravely states. "No country without a strong army will survive."

Below is the full text of the officer's letter addressed to President Goodluck Jonathan

PLEASE MR PRESIDENT SAVE THE MILITARY AND NIGERIA FROM COLLAPSING

1. Sir, I am constrain to write you this letter which I consider it a matter of more than great importance for me to inform you and put to record issues that are happening in the North East (Operation Zaman Lafiya). I choose this medium to write you this open letter because I have written similar letter but no action was taking which I believe some forces have blocked it are now after my life. Sir I have served in 7 Division as staff officer and presently I am the commanding officer of 103Bn in the field. My combined wealth of experience as a staff officer and now commanding officer are the disturbing fact that necessitated me to write you this letter. While as a staff officer, I was among those who believed that the commanders in the field are not doing well. But presently, as a commander in the field, I found out that it is not the fault of any commander that the defeat of the so called BOKO HARAM (BH) has not been achieved.

2. First and foremost sir, the Nigerian Army is poorly equipped in the North East, if all the battalions are well-equipped as required; it will not take the Army more than two weeks to flush out the BH. Presently there are four units in my location here in KONDUGA including 21 Armoured Brigade HQ. If all the units are provided with all their requirements, we can advance and flush out BH out of North East. Mr. President sir, the Nigerian Army is well-trained and capable of defending our nation. It has demonstrated the capacity to even successfully enforce peace in other nations. Why not in our own country Nigeria?

3. The fact about NE operation is that we are poorly equipped, understaffed, high corruption from Army Headquarters down to battalion level. Commanders see it as opportunity to make money. My predecessor has complained of the same problem. Instead of ASA addressing the issue raised by him, the army authorities decided to Court Martialled him. All the units in NE are understaffed, but on payroll their strength are complete just to collect more allowances than what each unit is supposed to. The commanders see it as a personal money making venture rather than taking care of men and equipment. This ugly trend led to loss of many officers and soldiers and thereby having adverse effect on the moral (sic) of troops. Majority of soldiers in the operation area wear m***i (civil cloths) under their military uniforms in case there is an attack and the troops cannot withstand the BH, they found it easy to disguise as civilians to enable them escape. This is not the traditional practice in the NA. Though it is lack of adequate equipment and poor administration from the higher authority that resulted to this ugly trend by our troops

4. Sir, another bad and unprofessional act is that soldiers don’t take to orders from their superior officers because they have lost confidence/trust from them. The case of former General Officer Commanding 7 Division Major General A. Mohammed is enough evidence to show that all is not well in the Nigerian Army. It will interest you to note that worse cases has been recorded before that of the former GOC and more are still happening, but nobody is ready to investigate the root cause of problems facing the troops in the field.

5. This brings me to a recent occurrence which is my main purpose of writing this letter. As I mentioned earlier, due to the failure of the authority to address issues that I made mentioned, when a unit is attacked and overran by the BH not because the soldiers are unable to fight, but lack of weapons, ammunitions and communications equipment, the soldiers on many occasions will ran away, and a commander cannot stand and fight alone as a result of this. Presently seventy percent of commanders in the NE are facing Court Martial due to the reasons mentioned. We the commanding officers are very worried over this development. This is because we many soon find our self as victims of this maladministration from our higher authorities.

6. There is no sincerity in this operation; this is because the present acting GOC has never visited any location outside Maiduguri town not to talk of principal staff officers in Army Headquarters or even the COAS. But we keep on hearing all sorts of lies that Generals are leading the fight against BH. These are facts that can be confirmed from officers and soldiers in this operation including those in the 7 Division Headquarters. The GOC is so afraid that even with the Divisional Headquarters; he doesn’t go out and always locked himself inside his office. Infact it is a common knowledge among officers and soldiers in this operation that the acting GOC is here to make his money and earn his promotion to the detriment of the operation. The completion of his mansion at No 8 Gwamna Road in Kaduna which the GOC ignorantly disclosed that when he completed it, will be among the best houses in Kaduna, has turned to be a subject of discussion among troops.

7. The former 21 Armored Brigade commander is facing Court Martial today because the acting GOC does not want to see him and his garrision in Maiduguri town simply because of the huge monthly allocations from the Borno State government to the brigade garrision. He wanted to be collecting his money by using 7 Div Garrison, but in reality 7 Div Garrision does not have troops to claim such money. It is worthy to note that the GOC received 33,000litres of AGO and PMS each, 600 bags of rice monthly from Borno State government. All these items are diverted for his personal use.

8. Recently the newly appointed 21 Brigade commander lead 3 units to flush out the BH, that operation was successful, almost 300 BH were killed, weapons and vehicles were recovered from them, in the process the troops exhausted their ammunitions from the Div, the GOC simply replied that there was no ammunition this made all the troops to withdraw back to KONDUGA.

9. Presently more than 3000 officers and soldiers are either killed in action, deserted, captured as POW or on AWOL. But due to lack of proper administration the army directed that their salary should be stopped. This affect the families of those that are either genuinely killed in action or captured as Prisoners of War. It has also affected some of the troops that are still participating in this operation.

10. Mr. President sir, if all issues raised in this letter are not urgently address, the Nigerian Army will soon be history and by implication there will be no country called Nigeria. No country without strong army will survive. I decided to write you this letter because the life of officers and soldiers trusted in my care are no longer save. My life is also at the stake because the NA authority as usual will say I have communicated directly to you as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and may sanction me. As a citizen of this country and a commander in the operational area, with all the points I have mentioned in this letter, it is clearly that the Military authorities have failed the country, as such they should be held liable for their misdeeds. I have consulted seasonal constitutional lawyers if writing you this letter will be an offence, but they said it is my constitutional right to inform the C in C about what is happening in the NE and within the military which if not address will affect the survival of Nigeria.

Nigerian luxury handbags: making a mark overseas

15/12/2014

Lagos (AFP) - Mention northern Nigeria and the first thing that may spring to mind is Boko Haram. Zainab Ashadu is hoping to change that -- by selling designer handbags.

The Nigerian designer is the brains behind the Zashadu brand, whose modern, colourful creations use the ancient art of tanning and leather-dyeing from the country's north.

"I think people like the story behind the bags. They like the fact that the bag has roots and origins," the 32-year-old told AFP at her bustling workshop in a working class district of Lagos.

From the cramped premises in Festac, which buzzes with the sound of Singer sewing machines, a team of about half a dozen artisans make between 200 and 300 bags every year.

Ashadu's parents were from the north, which is these days rarely out of the news because of the Islamist insurgency that has been raging since 2009.

But the region has long been known for its high-quality leather, which the designer turns into clutch purses and handbags that sell overseas for between 150-800 euros ($180-980, 120-630 pounds).

The leather comes from the north's biggest city, Kano, goatskin from the ancient northwestern city of Sokoto as well as python skin from snake farms in the region.

Unlike European fashion houses, which import raw leather from Nigeria and then tan and dye it overseas, Ashadu decided to make use of the centuries of know-how of artisans in Kano.

"It is very important for me to work in a sustainable way," she said.

"I work with small families of tanners, the animals are traceable, we use vegetable dyes and other environmentally friendly dyes, and also the dyers work all together to save energy."

The designer gets her inspiration from hours of hunting for bargains in the maze of stalls in the huge Mushin market, in the Lagos suburbs.

The market sells Nigerian leather off-cuts and rejects, particularly from Italian fashion houses.

"It's so vibrant... there's so much leather available and sometimes the sellers have no idea of the quality of what they sell," said Ashadu.

"There's antelope -- that is very soft -- there's goatskin, sheepskin..."

From there, the material is turned into bags by her team, all of whom have been trained at a specialist school of leatherwork in the northern city of Zaria.

- Adaptability key -

Ashadu is one of an increasing number of returning Nigerians or "repats", chancing their arm in their home country after years spent overseas.

She spent her early childhood years in Lagos but was a teenager in London, where she was variously a model, actress, buyer and architecture student.

She came back in 2010 and has had to adapt to a different way of doing business.

"You need to be tough-skinned, adaptable and to have a great sense of humour," she said.

"Nigeria is a very hard place to... do anything, let's put it that way. It's definitely very hard to run a business. But it's more earthy. You feel like your feet are on the ground."

Understanding and adapting to a different style of doing business is key to getting ahead, with some overseas firms looking to invest in Nigeria put off by red tape and logistical constraints.

Power cuts that often last more than 12 hours are a major problem and force businesses to invest in huge, costly electricity generators.

At Ashadu's workshop, in a modest house belonging to her family, power comes from a small generator.

What's important is adapting as much as possible to how her employees work, rather than trying to apply to the letter what she learnt at the London College of Fashion.

- 'Made in Africa' -

Zashadu bags have won a small but loyal following locally. Private sales have been held in unexpected locations such as a hotel suite with champagne and macaroons and at an upmarket yacht club.

In the last year, the brand, which is marketed online abroad, has established a presence in boutiques in London, Miami, Dublin, Johannesburg and most recently in Paris.

French designer Charlotte Ziegler, who sells Zashadu bags at the Franck et Fils department store, said she was intrigued by Ashadu's unusual profile and also its "sustainable luxury".

But she admits it was a risk.

"For 200 or 400 euros, people sometimes prefer to buy a product with a (recognised) designer label," she said.

Ashadu is confident and knows that she's tapped into a trend.

"People love Africa and Africa is something that is new in this way and people love to jump on bandwagons," she said.

"And this one ticks all the boxes: it's made in Africa, it's beautiful-looking, it's made sustainably, it's international."
