Purpose Built Service Limited (PBSL) was incorporated on 13 June 2012 and commenced operations on 01 August 2012 as a microfinance institution. The Company provides emergency loans to female professionals and entrepreneurs in order to enable them achieve their financial goals and support their families. We also provide women with skills necessary for both business and financial development through
our business and financial advisory services. Our loan products include salary advance, SME financing and Equipment financing. PBSL’s vision is to be Nigeria's leading specialized non-governmental microfinance institution (NGO-MFI) for women with nationwide impact and rich international collaborations while remaining an efficient and flexible company that delivers optimal returns to all stakeholders. We have targeted market segments that have not received much attention from credit suppliers: lower-income women; lower middle-class women professionals and MSMEs. Our short-term differentiation strategy can be seen in our business model which aims to create and deliver optimal value by supplying accessible, hassle-free, appropriately-priced, 24-hour, co-created and unsecured personal loans to women through direct and indirect sales mechanisms using personal assistance as a customer retention tool. Because we know that business is not just about making money, but also about sourcing funds and management, we provide business advisory services for our current target customers who though knowledgeable about their occupations may lack the necessary business information and skills required to start a new business and make it grow, or expand their existing businesses. We have thus included in our target market segment , entrepreneurs that have existing businesses but require relevant information about the workings of the Nigerian banking environment and financial systems. We currently offer a bundle of benefits and a mix of products and services to attract and service these customer groups. Though our services are specially designed for women, we also offer our services to men. PBSL is licensed by Money Lenders Association of Lagos State and is currently serving close to 100 clients and our future plans include converting to a microfinance bank with national presence.
