2. Publish the work
3. Perform the work in public

"Movie licensing refers to purchasing the rights to display a movie to a public audience. More specifically, the name of the license required is a public performance license.

Requiring the purchase of a public performance license ensures that the artists and businesses are fairly compensated for the work that they own the rights to. Since groups of people are consuming the media, then a “group rate” must be applied, aka the licensing fee."

When you buy, rent, or borrow a DVD or videotape of a movie (or any other audiovisual work) made by someone else, you normally obtain only the copy, and not the underlying copyright rights to the movie

You certainly are free to watch the movie yourself, but, beyond that, your rights are very limited by law. In particular, you do not have the right to show the movie to "the public." In most cases, doing that requires a separate "public performance" license from the copyright owner.

Copyright (or author’s right) is a legal term used to describe the rights that creators have over their literary and artistic works. In Nigeria, the following works are eligible for copyright protection by virtue of the copyright Act (Cap. 28 LFN 2004); literary, musical, artististic, cinematographic and sound recordings. As a film producerm writer or director, lead actor and actresses, your works that are used by hotels, transport companies, bars, offices etc deserves a copyright protection
