Small, consistent efforts can make a meaningful difference over time.

In March 2026, we continued our commitment to reducing period poverty, building on work that began in 2023. This year, we reached over 1,100 girls across secondary schools in Badagry, Alimosho, and Ajangbadi. Through this initiative, we provided education on proper sanitary pad use and menstrual hygiene, equipping young girls with the knowledge and resources needed to support their health, confidence, and dignity.

We also engaged approximately 500 boys within these communities, helping them understand that menstruation is a natural process and fostering a culture of empathy and support. Addressing stigma requires inclusion, and this was a deliberate step in that direction.

The initiative was delivered in partnership with the Women's rights And Health Project to its success. We also acknowledge the leadership of Mrs. Bose Ironsi in advancing conversations around understanding the female body and puberty.

While the challenge of period poverty in Lagos State remains significant, we believe that sustained, community-led efforts such as this contribute meaningfully to long-term change.
