Eko Atlantic City Give a Mile Initiative 2026

The journey began with a meeting between participating staffs and representatives of Kuramo Primary School where the vision behind the initiative was shared. Staff members were encouraged to join the marathon and raise fund towards improving learning condition for the students of Kuramo Primary School. As preparation got underway, marathon kits were distributed and excitement continued to build among participants, all united by a common goal, making a meaningful impact beyond the finish line.

Then came race day.
As part of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, participants came together with a shared community to make a positive difference, turning the spirit of race into an opportunity to support a meaningful cause. Following the marathon, a visit to the Kuramo Primary School provided a close look at the challenges facing the school. Several classroom doors were no longer working. Ceiling fans had stopped working and many of their writing boards were no longer in shape. These were their everyday challenges affecting both students and teachers.

Thanks to the generosity and support received through the Eko Atlantic City Give a Mile Marathon, we were able to take a step towards addressing some of these issues. The journey culminated in the presentation of a ceremonial cheque to the school. A symbol of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose. Today, new fans have been installed in all classrooms, creating a more comfortable environment for learning and helping improve their daily experiences for both the staff and the students. This is more than a marathon. It is a reminder that every step counts, every contribution matters, and together we can create lasting impact where it is needed the most.
