ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING
Attitude they say determines your altitude, which simply interprets, where you would get to in life. I come across persons in paid employment without an enviable work ethic. This persons do not take work seriously, they come late to work, never display a sense of ownership and responsibility. Inasmuch as I agree that an employee is never paid the true worth of his effort in a paid employment, it is still important that the right attitude is displayed. There have been times when I feel my achievements are underplayed, my efforts are not recognized and in these instances I was close to allowing mediocrity set in. But one would realize that there is only two option- either you get out and get another job or see reason to be happy with your current job.
Attitude is so important to the extent that a good attitude can become a habit. You really cannot give what you don’t have, if you find it hard to be good in a paid employment when you own your own job you would most likely be worse off. Good attitude won’t just “fall on you”, trying to mimic Davido( a Nigerian singer). If you can’t get to work 8am under an employer, then if it is your company you won’t get to work till 4pm- imagine the fate of that company. Hence, no matter how annoying it is, while under paid employment we need to develop the right attitude to enable us build the kind of company we would like to own personally.

Getting The Right Motivation
Ever wondered why most business venture do not thrive despite boundless opportunities. Ever wondered why in an environment with limitless opportunities we have very few entrepreneurs. It has been noted that people who venture in business for the wrong reason would not enjoy any return on their investment.
I decided to take a survey, interviewing some professionals on what should be the motivation for entrepreneurship. To my amazement, more than half of my respondents identified financial reward as the singular motivation for going into business.

Entrepreneurship is beyond making money. Anyone with the mentality of going into business to make money should please avoid investing financial resources in any business venture. Do not get me wrong, I do not expect you to invest without any hope of returns on investment. My point here is making money should not be your motivating factor for venturing into business.

Ever wondered what makes the global companies of our time stand out. Ever wondered why the Bill Gates of this world are wealthy and still remain wealthy. One of the things they all had in common is their ability to identify a need and develop a product to meet the need. As a matter of fact, most of this richest men of our times had struggles at the beginning of their business expedition. It was not always rosy, some of them made losses initially, product failures, product re-invention, etc – they had to first ensure that they met a need before they could get hope of financial gain.

The key attribute of a potentially successful entrepreneur is the ability to identify and develop a product aimed at meeting the need earlier identified. Financial success is an offshoot of customer satisfaction. As budding entrepreneurs it is important we get our priorities rights.
