📚INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2019 IBN ABAYOMI SCHOLARS’ COMPETITION
Ibn Abayomi Scholars' competition is organized by the Muslim Educational Aid Foundation (MEDAF) in honour of the late sage, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Hakeem Abayomi. It is targeted towards discovering young Muslims who are versatile in Islamic contemporary knowledge and contributing to their intellectual development through mentoring, training and scholarship. Contestants are expected to write and speak to a range of topics on Islamic contemporary understanding while convincing the panelists and audience.

Muslim students in Tertiary institutions, organizations and societies are invited to participate in this year’s edition of the programme. Intending participants are required to forward through email, a short essay of not more than 250 words on the topic, The Place of Muslim Youths in Nation Building to
[email protected] or [email protected]
The email should include the name, address and telephone contact of intending participant. Deadline for submission is Tuesday, 17th September, 2019. Successful entries shall be contacted through emails and text messages.
The preliminary stage of the competition commences on Saturday 21st and the Grand Finale is slated for Sunday 20th October 2019.

✍Many of us stunt our growth and stop ourselves from getting what we want by having a fixed mindset. We have that voice in our heads that we listen to that tells us that we can’t do something, that something is impossible, or that we do not have the skills to achieve something. 📚URGENT APPEAL FOR EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

Lateefah Odunuga was born in Somolu area of Lagos State. She attended Lagos State University (LASU) and was the first student to graduate with a FIRST CLASS in department of psychology. And she proceeded to University of Lagos where she also graduated with DISTINCTION in Clinical Psychology at MSc level.

Her academic dexterity has won her PhD scholarship of up to 75% tuition, with Alliant International University, CA, USA, worth about $20,000.

This seem how far the her effort and that of her mother "who is a petty trader" can go, since she lost her father at early age.

At this juncture, support is needed to complete the intellectual stride of this young scholar for her to fulfil the other part of her PhD tuition and travel cost, all to the tune of N2,500,000:00 (Two million five hundred thousand naira).

She is expected to resume in the school by the 25th of July, 2017. She may get a Graduate Assistant job if she gets to the school before this date, thus availing us the possibility of further reduction in the expected cost.

The Muslim Educational Aids Foundation is currently short of funds, hence resorting to crowd funding.

📝Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 261:
مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِي كُلِّ سُنبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ وَاللَّهُ يُضَاعِفُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ

The parable of those who spend their property in the way of Allah is as the parable of a grain growing seven ears (with) a hundred grains in every ear; and Allah multiplies for whom He pleases; and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing

📝Hadith 36: The significance of fulfilling the needs of a Muslim

🎓It was related on the authority of Abu Hurairah, radiyallahu ‘anhu , that the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam , said:
✍“Whosoever relieves from a believer some grief pertaining to this world, Allah will relieve from him some grief pertaining to the Hereafter. Whosoever alleviates the difficulties of a needy person who cannot pay his debt, Allah will alleviate his difficulties in both this world and the Hereafter. Whosoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy covers them, the angels surround them, and Allah makes mention of them amongst those who are in His presence. Whosoever is slowed down by his deeds will not be hastened forward by his lineage.” [Muslim]
