Sometimes, it's very tough to take our attention off our feelings of inadequacy. Tougher even to look away from present failings and past disappointments that we lose sight of what we're still capable of becoming.
So someone who loses a job also loses all confidence to get kicking again because in his mind, his job-loss and the fact that he could get fired at all has become the evaluation of his potential. But this is not true.
Even if being fired was what his present performance level and skill level deserved, the beautiful thing about the future is - it's not here yet. You get to create it through your choices, actions and decisions today. You get to reap just what you sow. So the question is, what do I need to be doing and where do I need to be skilling up and upping my game to create the future I crave?
The future is not an unjust sentence on your efforts by some imaginary god who for some unexplained reason and the sick pleasure he derives from watching you suffer, is hell-bent on making you stagnant regardless of your noblest efforts. NO! The future is as you make it. You make your own future. What you sow is what you reap.
Stop griping about what you suck at and cease hollering about what could have been if only you had been born in a rich home or had a better job with better pay.
Stop looking behind. Start looking forward through the eye of faith at the pictures of the future you desire. We become what we look at. Then work towards it. Enlist the help and support of those who have been where you want to go. Risk their rejection. Don't relent. Learn what you have to.
More importantly, success in any field requires that we focus on and develop our strengths in that area. It's called strengths-based performance in self-leadership. Focussing your energies and resources on maximising and optimising your strengths - the things you excel at. Stop being a copy. Quit trying to be everybody else but who God created you to be.
Only YOUR own gift will beat a path for you to where the Kings are. You're wired for something. Find it, develop it, master it and sell it & Get rewarded.
Find what you're good at and give it ALL it takes to be the best at it. Then watch the world beat a path to your doorstep.................uncle Bami
