A critical stakeholders’ meeting was held on Friday 9, January, 2025
with KWHIA field officers from the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara
State to deliberate on strategies for improving enrollment and also to pick up beneficiaries card for further dispatch . The Executive
Secretary of KWHIA, Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, commended the field
officers and reiterated her confidence in their capacity to drive
increased enrolment across the state.

Discussions also focused on NIN registration and the need to sensitize
vulnerable populations to obtain their NIN in order to continue
accessing the benefits of government and donor funded interventions. The
Executive Secretary further highlighted various programs and approaches for enrolling the target populations under the health insurance scheme.

EU-SARAH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT- IREPODUN LGA
On Thursday, 4th September 2025, history was made at the Primary Health Centre, Ijomu-Oro, Irepodun LGA, as the third EU-SARAH Community Engagement brought together voices, hopes, and commitments from communities across Ijomu-Oro, Arandun, Agbamu and their environs.
The focus remained clear: women of childbearing age, pregnant women, children under 5, FISTULA and GBV survivors - the population groups that need healthcare access the most.
The event was graced by political leaders from Kwara South, community stakeholders, and traditional authorities led by High Chief Matthew Samuel Taiye - the Eesa of Oro Kingdom, representing the Oloro of Oro Kingdom. Their presence underscored the shared commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind.
The Executive Secretary of Kwara State Health Insurance Agency (KWHIA), Dr.Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, alongside her dedicated team, provided deep insights into the programme, its processes, and the life-changing opportunities it offers.
Special appreciation goes to our partners - EU-SARAH, UNICEF, SFH, ARFH, and the FMOH - fir walking this journey with us and making healthcare access a reality for vulnerable population.

2nd EU-SARAH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT- AFON, ASA LGA
On Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, the Kwara State Health Insurance Agency (KWHIA) held the second EU-SARAH Community Engagement at the General hospital, Afon, headquarters of Asa LGA.
The event brought together participants from across Asa communities, particularly, Afon, Ogbondoroko/Revenue and Aboto-Oja, with a strong focus on the programme's target groups - women of childbearing age, pregnant women, and children under 5.
Community leaders, led by Mallam Hanafi Kola Balogun, District Head, and stakeholders from various communities, actively participated to support the onboarding of eligible beneficiaries. The Executive Secretary, Dr. Olubunmi Jetawo-Winter, and her team provided an overview of the programme and its implementation processes.
Special thanks to our partners - EU-SARAH, UNICEF, SFH, ARFH, and the FMOH - for their unwavering support in making this initiative impactful.
Together, we are working to ensure healthcare access for the most vulnerable in our communities.
