Job Title: Loan Officer

Location: Lagos


To facilitate lending, credit worthiness, & risks to clients.
The ideal candidate should possess an in-depth knowledge on sales & marketing with excellent track record of achievements.


▪ Meet with clients to obtain information for loan applications & give details about the process.
▪ Explain to clients the different types of loans/credit options available as well as the terms of services.
▪ Assess clients’ financial status.
▪ Process approval of loans within specified limits.
▪ Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete & accurate according to policy.
▪ Evaluate credit worthiness & risks.
▪ Maintain updated records of loan applications.
▪ Follow up with clients on renewal


▪ Proven work experience as a credit/loan officer
▪ Strong analytical & interpersonal skills
▪ Must be target-oriented.
▪ Minimum qualification OND
▪ Minimum of 2-4 yrs experience.

Credit Risk Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities
▪ Evaluate customers' loan applications in line with the bank's credit policy.
▪ Verify customer's businesses and prepare of loan verification reports.
▪ Monitor loans and prepare of loan status report.
▪ Prepare statutory reports such as Credit Bureau etc.
▪ Evaluate clients’ credit data and financial statements in order to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money to such customers or businesses
▪ Prepare reports about the degree of risk in lending money to clients
▪ Analyze client records and use the data to recommend payment plans
▪ Conferring with credit associations and references to exchange credit information on clients
▪ Evaluate the financial status of clients by producing financial ratios through computer programs
▪ Conferring with clients to verify their financial/credit transactions and to resolve their complaints.
▪ Predict the future trends from the current developments in the market and recommend the management accordingly to plan the strategies
▪ Analyze financial statements such as profit and loss, company budget and employee headcount reports.
▪ Compile reports showing the proposed plan of action for existing and potential clients.


◾B.Sc /HND in the numerate disciplines
◾2 - 3 years experience in a similar role in a Microfinance bank.

Our bank *First Option Microfinance Bank* is among the few banks and the only Non-Commercial bank partnering with Mojec International (Meter Asset Provider) to roll out prepaid meters nationwide.

The Project kicks off *May 1st.*

Nigerians can request for prepaid meters through *First Option* or any of the other partner banks and the meter would be installed *within 10 days.*
In the event they cannot afford it, _First Option would finance_ the purchase of the meter while customer repays over an agreed period of time.

Its all over the news and was also featured on Channels TV.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has recently released a list of licensed Micro-finance Banks (MFBs) in Nigeria as at February 13th 2019.

The list which was released yesterday, revealed that only 898 micro-finance banks have the authority to operate in the country as of February 13th 2019.

If your Micro-finance Bank is not on this list you obviously need to jump ship.

_First Option is listed as *no 298 on page 7* of the list_
