FOOD BUREAU AFRICA (FBA) is a Food Crops Cultivation and Processing company that majors in maize, Cassava, Plantain and Oil Palm cultivation, processing, packaging and marketing. BWLD is an engineering and service company under which umbrella FBA emerged. HOW IT ALL STARTED
We discovered in August 2009 that one of the major sectors from which the mass unemployment of youths in this
country can be curbed is FOOD PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING SECTOR. But the Food Production and Processing Sector was not attractive, especially to the youths. BWLD has passion for the youths of the country but the company together with its associate (Lisonet Technologies), which is majorly Optic Fibre Technologies and Services Company cannot employ the youths in large number. This prompted us to develop a daughter company (FOOD BUREAU AFRICA), that can assure generation of capital for Corps members to start businesses or enterprises of their choices after their service years. We believe this will effectively take them off the labor market. OUR VISION
In the words of Euripides (BC 480-BC 406) Youth is the best time to be rich, and the best time to be poor. Our vision is to help the youths get out of the shackles of unemployment and joblessness in the land. Since no financial institution is ready to give a starter youth in business or trader any facility or start-up capital, we believe we can show them an effective and practical avenue to generating the seed money or capital for their desired businesses during their National Youth Service Corps experience. This was how the FBA/NYSC Financial Empowerment Scheme was conceived. FBA/NYSC project started in 2013 by encouraging the interested Youth Corps members to save minimum of N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira ) per month for Five or Eleven months during their service year. And at the end of their service year, (for 5 months investors), each of the participants would have 100% return on investment together with the capital. Their investment is ploughed into Food Crops cultivation, Processing and Marketing within the twelve months and the profit from the food processing project is shared to them, which culminates into the 100% return on investment. For Eleven months savers or investors, a cheque carrying the value of their total investment is delivered to them at the end of their service year, and a second cheque of 100% return on their investment is equally delivered to them at the same time which would mature for clearing six months from the date they got their total investment. Our mission is to see them start good businesses or enterprises with this seed money which we believe will actively take them off the oversaturated labor market. We believe in Nigeria Youths and we are hoping that someday, many of the youths of this country that ever partake in this project will become so big in their businesses that their business empires will be producing what Nigerians and Africans at large will be using.
