**RELATIONSHIP SUNDAY**
YOUR HUSBAND IS THE HEAD OF THE HOME — BUT WHAT DOES THAT REALLY MEAN?

If you see the husband as the head of the household, it’s crucial to recognize that this headship doesn’t equate to being superior.

Being the head doesn’t imply:
❌ Your wife has no voice.
❌ You make every decision on your own.
❌ Your opinion is the only one that counts.
❌ Your wife must follow without being heard.

Healthy leadership takes on a different shape.

A husband who truly leads his family should be ready to take responsibility, offer guidance, safeguard his family’s wellbeing, serve selflessly, listen to his wife, and own up to his choices.

On the flip side, a wife isn’t just a follower in the home. She’s a partner, a confidante, a companion, and a co-creator of the family. Her insights, experiences, concerns, and viewpoints are invaluable.

There will be moments when husband and wife don’t see eye to eye. Leadership isn’t about sidestepping disagreements; it’s about having the maturity to listen, engage in discussions, seek understanding, and work together toward decisions that benefit the family.

Sometimes, the smartest move a husband can make is to say:

“My wife has a better perspective on this. Let’s go with her idea.”

That’s not a sign of weakness.

That’s leadership rooted in confidence.

A thriving home isn’t about asking, “Who holds more power?”

It’s about asking:

“How can we leverage our unique strengths to create a loving, peaceful, and flourishing family?”

If the husband is the head, let his leadership shine through love, humility, wisdom, responsibility, and service.

And if the wife is his partner, let her role be defined by respect, honesty, wisdom, support, and the courage to speak up when it matters.

The aim should never be for one person to outshine the other.
The aim is for the marriage to thrive. ❤️

Can I ask you these:

1. What should “the husband is the head of the home” actually mean in practical terms?
2. Can a husband lead effectively without making every decision himself?
3. Should a wife be able to challenge her husband?

YOU WERE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE — SO DON'T LIVE CARELESSLY. ❤️🙏

“Ye are not your own: for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Your life is far too precious to waste.

The love you share, the partner you choose, how you treat your spouse, the promises you make, and the decisions you take when no one is watching all hold significance in God's eyes.

Often, we find ourselves praying for a wonderful partner while neglecting to become the kind of partner we desire.

We long for a faithful spouse, but are we being faithful ourselves?
We seek respect, but do we show respect in return?
We crave genuine love, but are we willing to love selflessly?
We dream of a peaceful home, but do our words foster peace?

Remember, you were bought with a price. Your life is valuable, and your relationships should mirror the One who bestowed that value upon you.

Don’t let fleeting emotions, money, attraction, anger, or temptation lead you to ruin what God has entrusted to you.

And let’s not forget Ephesians 2:8:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

If God has blessed you with the gift of life, grace, and love, how are you choosing to use that gift?

QUESTIONS:

1. Can someone truly honor God while consistently hurting their spouse?
2. What does “you were bought with a price” signify for you in the context of marriage?
3. Should Christians incorporate their faith when selecting and treating a life partner?
4. What’s one thing every Christian couple could do differently to create a God-centered home?
