THIS CAN HELP YOU SCALE.
I don't know how many businesses are yet to have a SOP( standard operating procedure).
When I was running my business alone, I never saw a need to write down the steps it will take to get a job done with a desired result.
As the time progressed and I started employing workers, this was inevitable
For instance, in recieving and stocking of day old chicks in the brooder, we have some necessary steps to follow.
1. The brooder must be cleaned, sanitized and sealed off from possible predators.
2. The lighting system must be checked to ensure that all the bulbs and the heater are working.
3. The drinkers and feeders must be washed and sanitized
4. The birds must be booked too. So the necessary units must put a call across to the hatchery to book the birds.
5. Logistics must be put in place for conveying the chicks from the company to the farm.
6. On arrival, it must be ensured that there is electrolytes( glucose and vitamins) for them
7. When the birds arrive on the farm, they must be scaled, and counted into the cage.
8. The worker on duty will check on the birds every 4 hours the first 24 hours to ascertain their condition.
These can be replicated in any other sector. This written document allows the staff on the farm know when and exactly what to do.
