Civilian Joint Task Force led by Yusuf Baba Idris have battled and displaced an ambush staged by Boko Haram terrorists along Gasarwa and Birmari in Gajiram, the headquarters of Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State in the northeast region. Gajiram has an area of 2,467 km sq and a population of 99,799 at the 2006 census, but has remained almost a ghost town since the crises began in 2009 owing to several attacks by Boko Haram insurgents. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has refuted claims that it failed to respond to calls for support when suspected insurgents attacked Takulashi Village, Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State. Insurgents on Sunday launched an attack on Takulashi village. No fewer than nine people were killed and 7 were abducted. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has announced that the state government would meet over alleged extra-judicial killings in Oyigbo. The Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has told primary and secondary schools in the state not to resume fully yet. Governor Dapo Abiodun had ordered the full reopening of schools, hotels, worship centres and other establishments that were shut down as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Turkey on Sunday issued another navigational telex, or Navtex, for the area in the Eastern Mediterranean where it will conduct seismic research activities until Nov. 14. According to the announcement, the mission, which will be carried out by the Oruc Reis seismic research vessel, will continue for 10 days starting Thursday.
