In today's inside leadership interview session with Our Group Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer; Dr. Nwangwa Uzonna(HCIB,FCIPA,PCF,DBA,DPA), he was asked a question many young people are eager to answer: What should you focus on first when you want to build wealth?
Our GMDs answer was simple, but profound: “Focus on Knowing God.”
In a world where young people are constantly being told to chase money, build multiple income streams, acquire assets, and achieve financial independence, it is easy to forget that wealth without wisdom, character, and purpose can become an empty pursuit.
Knowing God gives you a foundation beyond what money can provide. It shapes your values, your decisions, your understanding of purpose, and the way you use whatever you eventually acquire.
Because the goal should not simply be to have more money, but to become the kind of person who can manage it, multiply it, and use it responsibly.
Build your career. Build your business. Learn about investments. Pursue excellence. But before you build wealth, build the person who will carry that wealth.
Money can give you options, but wisdom gives you direction. And for us, true wisdom begins with knowing God.
