Gossy Ukanwoke is an Entrepreneur and a Higher Education Investor, supporting access to Learning and Education for young people in under-served communities. Gossy Ukanwoke has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) qualification in Management Information Systems from the American University Cyprus.
He founded Beni American University (BAU) and BAU Executive Education (BEE) and is increasingly investing in education in Africa based on his principle of transforming learning and building institutions that will grow future leaders.
Gossy Ukanwoke has received notable awards in recent years. In June 2015, he was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was named as one of the 50 Global Makers and Shakers of EdTech by Qatar Foundation in 2016. The following year, 2017, he was named CEO of the Year by the Africa CEO Forum.
As an advisor to a number of young entrepreneurs, startups and businesses, he has successfully helped to build businesses that are providing real solutions to pertinent problems experienced in Africa across a broad range of sectors including: Power, Education, Civil Service, Infrastructure Development and Manufacturing. His work has been profiled by the World Bank, CNN, Forbes, Harvard Business School, Forum for Growth and Innovation, The Huffington Post and more, used for research purposes and cited in articles, journals and other academic publications.
Gossy assumed the role of Managing Director of Betking in 2020, a leading sports betting and entertainment company offering online services such as sports betting, and state-of-the-art virtual games and since then, the company has created over 100,000 jobs through its agency network with approximately 40,000 in 2020. Ukanwoke oversees the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), focusing on supporting business and entrepreneurship, youth training and education, and sports.
