Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming Her Excellency, Sanna Selin, the Ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, to the Ministry Headquarters in Abuja.

Our discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral cooperation between our two nations, particularly in key sectors that drive sustainable growth. We explored promising pathways for mutual partnership in trade expansion, technological innovation (including ICT and digitalization), renewable energy, and human capital development.

Under the Nigeria Agenda 2050 framework, our focus remains on building a highly diversified, resilient, and competitive economy. Collaborative partnerships with nations like Finland are vital to achieving these strategic goals, and I am incredibly optimistic about the impactful opportunities this relationship will bring.

Earlier today, the Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and I co-hosted a delegation from The World Bank at the Ministry Headquarters.

The delegation provided a comprehensive briefing on the latest Early Childhood Development (ECD) Analytics in Nigeria.

Investing in the foundational years of our children is a core pillar of our national growth strategy. By leveraging these data-driven insights, we are better equipped to align budgetary allocations and economic policies with targeted interventions that secure the future of our youngest citizens.

We remain committed to strengthening our partnership with the World Bank to drive sustainable human capital development across the nation.

Today marked a historic leap forward for Nigeria! 🇳🇬

At the State House Banquet Hall, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, officially launched a game-changing $2.42 Billion portfolio to uplift our communities and transform lives.

Here is what this means for Nigerians:
📍 NG-CARES ($500M): Providing food security, livelihood support, and social transfers to 22.7 million of our most vulnerable citizens.

📍 SOLID ($300M): Building climate-resilient infrastructure and restoring hope for 3.5 million IDPs and host communities.

📍 The HOPE Portfolio ($1.622B): A massive upgrade to our primary healthcare (HOPE-PHC), basic education (HOPE-EDU), and public sector efficiency (HOPE-GOV).

A heartfelt thank you to our partners at the World Bank and everyone across the Federal and State governments who worked tirelessly to bring these programs to life.
We are delivering together, and we will not leave any Nigerian behind.

A resilient nation begins with resilient food systems.

That conviction brought together government leaders, development partners, the private sector, civil society organisations and other stakeholders at the National Dialogue on Nigeria's Convergence Initiative Workshop.

As I officially declared the workshop open, I emphasised that food systems transformation and climate action must no longer be pursued independently. They are interconnected priorities that will determine Nigeria's ability to achieve food security, economic growth, environmental sustainability and improved livelihoods.

The National Convergence Initiative creates an important platform for aligning policies, strengthening institutional coordination, improving data systems, mobilising sustainable financing and delivering measurable outcomes across the country.

Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and through the National Development Plan 2026–2030, we remain committed to building a climate-resilient economy that creates opportunities, attracts investment and improves the quality of life for every Nigerian.

I sincerely appreciate the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub, FAO, UNICEF, Helen Keller International, Action Against Hunger, GAIN and all our partners for their continued collaboration.

Working together, we can transform Nigeria's food systems, strengthen climate resilience and move confidently towards our shared vision of a prosperous $1 trillion economy.

Nigeria's future is built on more than ambition , it is built on partnership, innovation, and purposeful investment.

Today, I joined development partners, policymakers, and industry leaders at the Bank of Industry Development Partners' Roundtable to discuss how we can mobilise the capital needed to unlock Nigeria's immense potential.

A $1 trillion economy is achievable when government, development institutions, investors, and the private sector work with one shared vision.

Together, we will continue building an economy that creates opportunities, empowers businesses, supports innovation, and delivers prosperity for all Nigerians.

Together, we finance Nigeria's future.

I had the honor of formally opening the 2-Day Training Workshop for State Commissioners for Budget and Economic Planning, hosted at the Zuma
Rock Resort in Niger State.

Speaking on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, I emphasized that the roadmap to our nation’s $1 trillion economy, a central pillar of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, relies heavily on the synergy between federal frameworks and subnational ex*****on.

To achieve sustainable, inclusive growth and overcome pressing economic challenges, we must bridge the gap between national and state development plans. Our focus remains clear:

Institutionalizing evidence-based, data-driven planning

Enhancing fiscal governance and resource mobilization

Strengthening implementation, monitoring, and accountability

State governments are the architects of development policy and the bridge between political aspirations and measurable results for our people. By aligning our budgets and public investments, we move closer to a more resilient Nigeria.

My gratitude goes to the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for their continued partnership, and to the Ministry’s technical teams for organizing this impactful

we are moving forward as one team, with one target.
Delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda. One team. One target.
