The new state Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC, Ogun State Command, paid a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Chairman of ACOMORAN, Comr. Kayode Amos Sowunmi at the association state secretariat today.

The visit, which was not unconnected with familiarisation, was laced with deep discussions between the two leaders.

The highlight of the meeting was an invitation to the FRSC day 2026 which is primarily aimed at reorienting and sensitizing all road users and the general public on the use of roads, their rights, privileges, and limits.

The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, under the purposeful leadership of Comr. Kayode Amos Sowunmi JP, today convened its extended statewide general meeting with remarkable participation and unity of purpose.

The gathering brought together members and stakeholders across the state to deliberate on matters central to the growth, regulation, and welfare of commercial motorcycle operators. It was a moment of reflection, coordination, and renewed commitment to responsible leadership within the transport sector in Ogun State.

The high point of the meeting was the conferment of an Award of Recognition on the State Chairman Comr. Sowunmi by the Newspaper Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria (NPMAN), Southwest Zone. The honour, presented in acknowledgment of his exemplary leadership and contributions to organizational stability and community development, underscores the growing recognition of disciplined, structured, and visionary leadership within ACOMORAN and beyond.

The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle, Tricycle, Repairers, and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, under the dynamic leadership of Comr. Kayode Amos Sowunmi, successfully held their extended statewide meeting today at the state Secretariat in Abeokuta.

The discussions during this important meeting focused on the paramount importance of what we do and how to be better at our activities on the road, in our parks, and beyond.

The Chairman highlighted the need for selflessness and integrity, loyalty, to the Government, and compliance with the laws guiding the road use and law enforcement agencies.

Ogun State Marks Golden Jubilee as ACOMORAN Chairman Hails Legacy, Leadership, and Future

Abeokuta, Ogun State — As Ogun State celebrates its Golden Jubilee, Comrade Kayode Amos Sowunmi, JP, Chairman of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, has congratulated the government and people of the state on 50 years of purposeful existence, resilience, and steady development.

In a statement released to commemorate the anniversary, Comrade Sowunmi described Ogun State as a land of visionaries, industry, and excellence, noting that its journey since creation in 1976 reflects deliberate leadership and the collective sacrifices of its people. He paid glowing tribute to the founding ideals that have guided the state through successive administrations, applauding both past and present governors for their varied contributions to infrastructure, education, industrial growth, and social development.

The ACOMORAN chairman also celebrated Ogun State’s rich human capital, acknowledging iconic sons and daughters whose legacies continue to shape Nigeria and the world. He referenced foremost nationalists and intellectuals such as Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, former Head of the Interim National Government Chief Ernest Shonekan, and former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, among many others, describing them as enduring symbols of the “Gateway State’s” leadership pedigree.

ACOMORAN National President, Prince Adebayo Apelogun, Commends Governor Dapo Abiodun on Commissioning of Ayepe-Sagamu Road

The National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Prince Adebayo Samsudeen Apelogun, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, OON, following the official commissioning of the 3.5km Ayepe/Sagamu Road.

The landmark event, held today, January 22, 2026, marks a significant milestone in the Abiodun administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and urban renewal within the state.
A Distinguished Gathering
The ceremony was attended by a host of high-ranking officials and traditional leaders, signaling the importance of the project to the region.

Delivering his goodwill message at the event, Prince Apelogun expressed profound joy and gratitude to Governor Abiodun for the successful completion of the road. He noted that the project would significantly ease transportation challenges for residents and commercial transporters alike.

"This road is more than just asphalt; it is a lifeline for the economy of Sagamu and its environs. We are grateful for the Governor's vision and his dedication to improving the lives of the people through quality infrastructure," Apelogun stated.
