DBN Recognised for Advancing Green Finance at Namibia Sustainable Development Awards

The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) has been named the winner of the Green Financial Services/Institution category at the 5th Namibia Sustainable Development Awards, held on 3 September 2026.

The awards, hosted by the Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF Namibia) in partnership with the Sustainable Development Advisory Council (SDAC), aim to recognise and reward institutions and individuals that demonstrate leadership, innovation and excellence in environmentally responsible practices, while promoting the adoption of sustainability best practices.

The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) successfully hosted two well-attended information sessions in Rundu and Nkurenkuru, bringing together community members to learn more about DBN’s products and services.

These interactive sessions provided a valuable platform for attendees to engage with the DBN team, ask questions, and gain the information needed to access financing and development opportunities.

The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) Executive Team, together with members of the Board, paid a joint courtesy visit to the Governor of the Kavango West Region, Honourable V. Sinimbo, and the Mayor of Nkurenkuru, His Worship J.M. Mutu, together with members of the Nkurenkuru Town Council.

The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships, exchange insights on the region’s development priorities, and reaffirm DBN’s commitment to working collaboratively with regional and local leadership to advance sustainable economic growth and inclusive development across Namibia.
