NADD

NADD Namibia's first and only blockchain-native NAD-pegged stablecoin. Built for everyday use by anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Namibia Digital Dollar (NADD) is the first and only blockchain-native stablecoin representing the value of the Namibian Dollar (NAD) on-chain on a 1:1 basis, operating within a 100% reserve-backed framework for real-world digital payments, settlement, and financial infrastructure. Built on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), NADD provides blockchain-native infrastructure for instant value transfer, merchant

settlement, wallet interoperability, digital asset conversion, and programmable financial services. The broader NADD ecosystem includes NADD Pay on WhatsApp, NADD AI (Endola), M-Pesa connectivity, USDT interoperability, the NADD API, and the NADD Developer Sandbox. Endola provides financial insights, transaction intelligence, Financial Health Scores, recommendations, and platform assistance through natural-language conversations. For consumers, NADD Pay provides a WhatsApp-native interface for everyday digital payments. Users can send, receive, buy, convert, and transact with NADD directly through WhatsApp, including NADD/USDT interoperability and M-Pesa payout connectivity, without requiring a separate payment application. For businesses and institutions, NADD provides digital settlement infrastructure supporting merchant payments, cross-border value transfer, digital asset interoperability, and API-based integration through the NADD API and Developer Sandbox. Founded by Simon Kapenda in September 2025, NADD is building accessible blockchain-native digital settlement infrastructure for Namibia and the broader Southern African Development Community (SADC), connecting familiar payment channels with programmable on-chain financial infrastructure. The Bank of Namibia announced that in June 2027, it will launch a version of a digital Namibian dollar.

But what is it?

Let's look at the Nigerian eNaira, which is the digital version of the fiat Nigerian Naira created and launched by the Central Bank of Nigeria, as a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and the privately developed and issued cNGN, a Blockchain-native stablecoin pegged 1-on-1 to the fiat Nigerian Naira.

So, what is the difference between the two?

Look at the attached screenshots by cNGN.

And then consider what the Bank of Namibia (BoN) plans to launch versus NADD (Namibia Digital Dollar) (see: https://nadd.io), which is a privately developed and privately issued Blockchain-native stablecoin pegged 1-on-1 to the fiat Namibian Dollar (NAD), not affiliated or endorsed by BoN.

Any similarities?

See the attached screenshots by cNGN (https://cngn.co):

NADD Welcomes Namibia's Continued Advancement Toward Digital Money

NADD welcomes the Bank of Namibia's continued advancement toward a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and the broader modernization of Namibia's digital financial infrastructure.

CBDCs and stablecoins are distinct forms of digital money and can serve different roles within a modern digital economy.

A CBDC is sovereign digital money issued by a central bank and represents a direct liability of that central bank. Depending on its design, a CBDC can support use cases such as domestic payments, person-to-person transfers, merchant payments, government disbursements, and settlement within regulated financial infrastructure.

A fiat-pegged stablecoin is privately issued digital value, typically operating on blockchain infrastructure and designed to maintain parity with an underlying sovereign currency through its applicable reserve and stabilization framework. Stablecoins can support use cases such as on-chain payments and settlement, cross-border value transfer, digital-asset interoperability, programmable payments, merchant settlement, and blockchain-based financial applications.

Namibia Digital Dollar (NADD) is an independently developed and privately issued blockchain-native stablecoin representing Namibian Dollar (NAD) value on-chain on a 1:1 parity basis, within its published reserve-backed framework. NADD is not a CBDC, is not legal tender, and is not issued, guaranteed, or endorsed by the Bank of Namibia or any government agency.

We believe the continued development of digital-money infrastructure in Namibia is positive for innovation, financial inclusion, payments modernization, and the country's participation in the emerging global digital economy.

CBDCs and stablecoins are different infrastructure models — but both demonstrate how money and payments are increasingly becoming digital.

NADD Pay | USDT Interoperability and Fiat Settlement Update

NADD Pay on WhatsApp supports interoperability between Namibia Digital Dollar ( NADD ) and USDT, providing users with a blockchain-native pathway for digital asset conversion and settlement.

Users can transfer supported USDT from an external wallet or exchange into the NADD Pay ecosystem, convert USDT to NADD, and convert NADD back to USDT for transfer to supported external wallets or exchanges.

The currently supported digital settlement flows include:

External Wallet/Exchange → USDT → NADD Pay → NADD
NADD → USDT → External Wallet/Exchange

Direct NADD-to-NAD withdrawals into Namibian bank accounts are not currently enabled.

Abba Payments is working to establish the appropriate local institutional banking and custody infrastructure required to support direct fiat settlement between NADD and Namibian bank accounts. Until this infrastructure is operational, users seeking to exit NADD into fiat may convert NADD to USDT and transfer the USDT to a supported external exchange or off-ramp, subject to that provider's applicable services and requirements.

NADD Pay will only introduce direct local bank settlement once the appropriate institutional banking infrastructure and operational arrangements are in place.

In the coming days, you will be able to send NADD directly to someone in Angola through NADD Pay on WhatsApp.

Simply send “Hello” from your WhatsApp number to +264 85 250 9027. Inside NADD Pay, select “Send to AOAk,” enter the recipient’s Angolan WhatsApp number and choose the amount of NADD you want to send.

NADD Pay will automatically convert your NADD into AOAk and deliver the AOAk to the recipient’s wallet. The recipient in Angola will then be able to withdraw the value of the AOAk in Angolan Kwanza through a supported cash-out channel.

The same connection will also work in reverse. Someone in Angola will be able to send AOAk to a recipient in Namibia through WhatsApp. NADD Pay will automatically convert the AOAk into NADD and deliver the NADD to the recipient’s wallet in Namibia.

From Namibia to Angola:
You send NADD. They receive AOAk. They withdraw Kwanza.

NADD Pay is adding AOAk to its WhatsApp-native cross-border African settlement network.

NADD Pay provides an accessible WhatsApp layer for NADD wallet-to-wallet transfers and our developing Kenya M-Pesa corridor—designed to broaden financial access and make digital payments easier to use. No additional app to download and no need for users to understand how blockchain technology works.

Today, we started another step by beginning the integration of AOAk (Angola Digital Kwanza) into NADD Pay.

AOAk is a blockchain-native stablecoin and digital settlement unit designed around the Angolan Kwanza, with 1 AOAk representing 1 AOA in value on-chain.

The initial integration will enable NADD Pay users in Namibia to send NADD and have recipients in Angola receive AOAk instantly, in real-time, creating the beginnings of a second type of corridor: digital national-unit to digital national-unit settlement.

Namibia → Angola
NADD → AOAk
(NAD) → (AOA)

Our long-term objective is simple: make moving value across African borders as accessible as sending a WhatsApp message.

A 1:1 Namibian Dollar-pegged stablecoin powering NADD Pay on WhatsApp, NADD AI (Endola), NADD Debit Card, M-Pesa payment flows, and the NADD API for programmable payment and settlement infrastructure.

We're Building NADD as the Settlement Asset and NADD Pay as the Accessibility Layer

When we started developing the Namibia Digital Dollar (NADD), the objective was not simply to put the Namibian Dollar (NAD) on a blockchain.

The bigger question was: how do we make blockchain-based money practical and accessible to ordinary people and businesses everywhere, including those in remote and rural communities?

A stablecoin can be technically sophisticated, but its usefulness remains limited if users must understand wallet addresses, networks, gas fees, and other blockchain complexities before they can use it.

That is why we built an accessibility and payment infrastructure around NADD.

Today, the NADD ecosystem brings together:

• NADD — the NAD-referenced blockchain-native settlement asset.

• NADD Pay on WhatsApp — allowing users to access NADD payment services through a familiar communication platform.

• NADD Pay QR Payments — enabling individuals and businesses to show, share, and scan QR codes to initiate payments through WhatsApp, with payer review and PIN authorization before funds move.

• NADD ↔ USDT conversion — enabling automatic conversion between NADD and USDT directly through NADD Pay on WhatsApp.

• M-Pesa interoperability — being developed to connect NADD Pay with established mobile-money infrastructure through WhatsApp.

• NADD API — providing programmable infrastructure for businesses, developers, and institutional integrations.

• NADD AI (Endola) — providing a financial-intelligence interface based on verified NADD Pay records, accessible through WhatsApp.

• NADD Pay Debit Card — now in the final activation stage, designed to extend NADD Pay into familiar card-payment and ATM environments.

The architecture can therefore be understood simply:

NADD is the settlement asset. NADD Pay is the accessibility layer.

A blockchain-native user can interact on-chain. An everyday user can use WhatsApp. A taxi driver, restaurant, hairdresser, shop, or kapana vendor can receive payment through a QR code. A USDT holder can automatically convert USDT to NADD through WhatsApp. Businesses and institutions can connect programmatically through APIs. Mobile-money and card infrastructure further extend those access points.

The objective is to make the underlying blockchain increasingly invisible to the person making or receiving a payment.

WhatsApp. QR. USDT. Mobile money. APIs. Blockchain. Cards. One NADD payment ecosystem.

That is what we are building: digital payment and settlement infrastructure with NADD at its core.

And because WhatsApp is already installed on billions of mobile devices worldwide, NADD Pay is designed to reduce the need for users to download, install, and learn another dedicated payment application.
