What height is the most suitable for raising a ridge in a field? Is the higher the ridge the better? What are the disadvantages of raising the ridge too high and raising the ridge too low?
1. The ridge height for vegetable ridge planting is generally about 25 cm. The minimum ridge height should not be less than 15 cm, and the maximum ridge height should not exceed 30 cm. Of course, this is only the best ridge height for vegetable planting. If you plant deep root crops such as fruit trees, the height of the ridge must be about 40 cm.
2. The height of vegetable ridges can be increased or decreased flexibly according to the actual situation. On the one hand, it depends on whether the water in the ditch is smooth. If the water in the ditch is relatively smooth and the water does not overflow the top of the ridge, then a ridge height of 15-20 cm is also sufficient. If the water in the ditch is not smooth, it is easy to overflow. In the case of the top of the ridge, the ridge height of 25 cm may not be enough. In this case, we should appropriately increase the height of the ridge to about 30 cm. If the plots where your vegetables are grown are mostly dry weather or the terrain is high, in order to prevent the vegetables from growing poorly due to drought and lack of water, the ridges should be low rather than high.
3. It is not suitable for the height of vegetable ridges to be too high or too low. If the ridges are too low, it is easy to cause water flooding the top of the ridge and the soil at the top of the ridge when we water the field or encounter heavy rain. And reduce the permeability of the soil, which will have an adverse effect on the normal growth of vegetables; on the contrary, if the ridge is too high, when we water in the field, it is easy for the water to not pe*****te the top of the ridge, and the surface of the ridge is dry and lacks water. It is also very detrimental to the healthy growth of vegetables.
