A cataract condition was diagnosed after the 120-day waiting period, but still within the first year of policy coverage. Initially declined as suspected of pre-existing condition, but upon appeal and reassessment by the underwriter, the decision was revised fairly.

✅ Final outcome: Standard terms maintained, as long as no signs of pre-existing condition were found.
This shows the importance of accurate disclosure and that fair outcomes are possible through appeal.

The appeal for the client submitted in May 2024 was declined because the underwriter required a review of five years after the last medication was taken. However, the appeal made in January 2025 to waive the exclusion on epilepsy and its complications was approved! 💃💃💃

Exclusions or loadings on your policies are not permanent and can be appealed with valid reasons and a doctor's statement.
