Yesterday, I attended a health talk by SunMed on
Understanding Colorectal Cancer 🩺

One of my biggest takeaways was this:

Colorectal cancer is not always beyond prevention. What is truly unfortunate is when it is detected too late.

📌 Some key facts that caught my attention:

👉 In Malaysia, colorectal cancer is the 2nd most common cancer, accounting for about 14.1% of cancer cases from 2017–2021.

👉 Among Malaysian men, colorectal cancer is the most common cancer, and the risk increases significantly with age.

👉 Even more concerning, about 74.9% of male colorectal cancer cases were diagnosed at Stage 3 or Stage 4 during 2017–2021.

🌍 Globally, colorectal cancer is the 3rd most common cancer and the 2nd leading cause of cancer death. By 2040, the number of new cases is projected to reach approximately 3.2 million per year.

Another important point shared during the talk:

More than 90% of colorectal cancers may develop from adenomatous polyps over a period of approximately 10–15 years.

This means there can be an important window of opportunity to detect and remove precancerous polyps before they progress into cancer.

🔎 When should we start screening?

According to the Malaysia CPG presented during the talk, colorectal cancer screening for average-risk individuals is recommended from age 50.

Different screening options are available, including stool-based tests, CT colonography and colonoscopy.

Some international guidelines recommend starting as early as age 45, so the appropriate age and screening method should be discussed with your doctor based on your individual risk.

🧬 Family history matters too.

Not all colorectal cancers are hereditary. However, if colorectal cancer occurs at a younger age in your family, or if several family members have had colorectal, endometrial, ovarian or certain other cancers, it is important to inform your doctor and assess whether you may be at higher risk.

One sentence from the talk stayed with me:

“Colorectal Cancer is Preventable: Screening Saves Lives.”

Sometimes, having no symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean that everything is fine.

The purpose of health screening is not to look for illness simply because we feel unwell. It is about giving ourselves the opportunity to:

Detect earlier. Act earlier. Have more options.

As we grow older, perhaps we shouldn’t only ask:

“Do I feel unwell?”

We should also start asking:

“At my age and with my family history, what health screenings should I be doing?”

Prevention is always better than cure. ❤️
Because good health is the foundation for everything else in life.

September 8

Had some discussions with colleagues today and a few thoughts came up.
I realized that in our industry, we truly need:
discipline, self-control, self-learning, self-reflection, and self-healing abilities.

Our inner strength must be solid to handle daily challenges.
Life is never monotonous — it’s full of ups and downs, bumps and turns.
The people we meet are all kinds of different.
Our emotional management, mental state, attitude towards life,
relationships, and all kinds of abilities
deeply influence our daily work efficiency.

For those who don’t know much about our industry,
they may think our existence is only for self-interest —
constantly selling insurance, earning commissions, upgrading to bigger cars and bigger houses.
But those who know us a little better
often hold great respect for us.

I once met a few business owners who told me:
insurance professionals are incredible, hardworking, always learning, always attending training,
organizing events, building networks, leading teams.
At the same time, we must also devote ourselves to clients while balancing family and career.
They truly admire us from the heart.

I remember how I felt at that moment:
Wow — somewhere in this world,
there are people who view our profession in such a positive light.
Since then, I’ve felt proud of my career
and proud of every service I provide for my clients.

The service industry has never been short of hardships,
but along the way, there is just as much beauty and inspiration.

Only through mutual respect between people
can we continue to spark something wonderful.
All we really need is to find the right people,
serve sincerely, do our part, and stay true to our conscience.
With genuine effort, we uplift ourselves and our service,
and beautiful connections will naturally come our way.

Thank you to those who respect us 🫡
Thank you to the clients who have always supported and trusted me 🫡

Yesterday, our team of colleagues had the privilege of visiting the newly opened Sunway Medical Centre Damansara, which began operations late last year. 🤩

In recent years, more and more established hospitals have been inviting insurance agents like us for networking and collaboration. Perhaps they’ve realized that behind each agent stands the influence of at least 250 clients. They also understand how our relationships with clients can impact trust and decision-making. 😉

In fact, Sunway Medical has long been a household name. When people think of hospitals, Sunway is often the first that comes to mind — a name associated with trust and confidence. Now with the opening of its Damansara branch, we believe it will soon be flooded with patients and visitors, especially since the main Sunway Centre is already operating at full capacity.

Beyond the hospital tour and learning about their services and facilities, what touched us most was the rare opportunity to have lunch and meaningful conversations with top-level management including the CEO, COO, and several highly respected and extremely busy doctors. We heard that even agents from other agencies and companies don’t usually get such treatment! So this truly was a rare and special experience 😎🤩

That’s how we ended up with this once-in-a-lifetime group photo — a memorable shot with hospital top-level management, executives, doctors, and our team all together. 🤓

Every doctor and executives was incredibly warm and friendly. Even the CEO and several doctors came personally to greet us. Honestly, it was such a heartwarming experience. In this digital age where genuine human connection is becoming rare,
maybe that’s why this moment felt so emotional.
Haha 😂😂🤭🤭

This also shows how much is valued by the hospital — a testament to the close collaboration and mutual respect between both parties.

Here’s to more exciting partnerships ahead,
bringing better value and experience to our clients,
and creating a smoother, more reassuring journey in both healthcare and insurance. ❤️

Dear Client,

How are you doing in the other world?

I just want to tell you that I’ve kept my promise — within 7 days, I helped your wife claim the RM500,000 protection you left behind.

The company didn’t make it difficult at all. The claim process was smooth and straightforward. We only submitted once, and just before the 7th day, the money was already paid out.

Thank you for trusting me back then — for giving me the chance to serve you in your mortgage and insurance needs.

I later heard that many other insurance agents and bankers tried to approach you, but you didn’t give them a chance.

That trust… I will never forget.

We met five times:
Once, to apply for the loan.
Twice, to explain the loan and sign your policy.
The third time, I delivered your policy to you, and even gave red packets to your two little ones.
The fourth time, I helped you claim the premium waiver.
And the fifth… was when I could only watch you fall asleep forever.

I didn’t disappear.
I didn’t break my promise.
I served you till the very end.

Thank you. May you rest in peace.

*This is why I do what I do — for the people who trust me, and the families they love.

🔥 Are you prepared for the unexpected? 🔥
Recent earthquakes and fires remind us that disasters can strike anytime. Many homeowners underestimate the risk and only realize the importance of fire insurance when it’s too late. 😨🏠

💡 Fire insurance covers damages caused by fire, natural disasters, and even accidental explosions. It’s a small cost for peace of mind and financial protection!

🏡 Check your policy today or get a new one from us if you’re not covered!

Today, a client told me something that made my day:
Whenever someone mentions insurance or trust funds, she immediately thinks of me and recommends me! 🥹🫶🏻

Last year, she introduced her niece to me, and after sharing and explaining, I closed the deal. This year, she introduced her good friend to me too!

I’m truly grateful! 🤩😘

She also said my service is excellent and professional (her words, not mine—I wouldn’t dare to say it myself! 🤣).

Thanks to my effort, she now has a guaranteed medical card, something she thought she would never be able to get.

Last year, she had knee surgery that cost RM36K+.
Thankfully, her medical card covered it, and I was able to help her ease this financial burden. So happy for her!

Oh, and guess what?
This client was also referred to me by a good friend!
Forever grateful for these connections! ❤️

Lately, many clients have been asking me:
“Someone is offering 8-15% returns on a cash trust. Should I invest?”

Ask yourself these questions first:

❓ 1. Is the company regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia / Securities Commission Malaysia?
❓ 2. Where is your money being invested? Where do the returns come from? Is it reasonable?
❓ 3. What happens to your money if the company goes bankrupt?
❓ 4. If you can’t get your money back, can you accept it?
❓ 5. If you lose your money, do you know where to report it?

Understand 1, 2, 3, then ask yourself 4 & 5.
If you’re comfortable with the risks—then go ahead and invest.

Investment isn’t about how high the returns are,
It’s about whether you can afford the risk.
