After I was done with my degree, I studying.
I felt I learned enough.
Funnily, I mentioned this during my internship to a senior colleague and she smiled while telling me "Life is a continuous learning process".
I was like "Yeah, whatever" in my mind, as at that time, I felt completing my degree in Actuarial Science in 2012 was a feat likened to conquering Mount Everest. There is nothing left to conquer in this world. Silly me..
It was after few years down the road that I realized that we could become incompetent should we stop learning. See, our mind is built to always seek more, and to stop that process literally signals our mind that we are complacent at where we are. The mind responds by declining active mental activities and we expedite our path to meet God.
Hence, in 2015, I pursued Masters in Economics in my dream university, UM and graduated in 2018. Then in the same year, I did an online course to enable myself to use Python programming language. I further enhanced my VBA programming skills in 2019 and made great contributions to automating some tasks in the company I worked before.
In 2020, I pursued Professional Banker qualification from AICB that required me to complete 3 papers in relation to banking. I completed it in 2022. In 2023, given I was in the path to advising people on financial planning, I completed CFP CERT TM though challenge mode, and by the grace of God, I passed on the single attempt.
In 2024, I pursued my path to becoming a life coach while simultaneously coaching myself as now I know the process to help others. I am also actively learning more on Estate Planning though an online course.
All of these were done while I am working to fulfill one goal, i.e. to continuously improve myself and make me relevant to the current market. I also have already planned on learning something next year.. hehe..
Once we put our mind into something, we become relentless..
So, what is it that you want to learn to finish 2024 strong?
