Rare Blood Moon To Be Visible In Malaysia Tonight! 🌕🩸
📌 Malaysia will witness a Total Lunar Eclipse tonight (March 3, 2026), also called a “Blood Moon,” when the Moon passes fully into Earth’s shadow and turns a deep reddish hue.
⏰ According to the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), the penumbral eclipse begins at 4:44 PM, followed by the partial eclipse in the evening. Totality, when the Moon appears red, is expected to last about 58 minutes.
🌑 The reddish colour occurs as sunlight filters through Earth’s atmosphere and reflects onto the Moon’s surface. The eclipse is safe to view with the naked eye, weather permitting.
👉🏻 The last major total lunar eclipse visible in this region occurred on November 8, 2022, and the next similarly long total lunar eclipse won’t happen until 2028! ⏳
🌌 Skywatchers in Malaysia should look toward the eastern horizon after moonrise for the best view, as visibility depends on the Moon being above the horizon during the eclipse phases.
