The SJPP team recently conducted a courtesy visit to Minyak VW Enterprise Sdn Bhd in Kota Kinabalu, a Sabah-based business with a well-established presence in the marine fuel sector.

Minyak VW is a compelling example of purposeful growth. What began as a single floating fuel station over 40 years ago has since evolved into a meaningful enterprise — supporting livelihoods, creating employment opportunities and contributing to the surrounding community.

Beyond its core operations, the company also plays a vital role in improving living conditions for communities on nearby Pulau Gaya. From supplying fuel for essential electricity generation to supporting waste collection efforts, its contributions reflect a practical and sustained commitment to both the environment and the people it serves.

This visit underscores SJPP’s commitment to understanding businesses beyond the surface — appreciating the journeys, challenges and efforts that underpin real, sustainable growth.

SJPP recently engaged with CIMB Bank in a productive discussion focused on financing for SMEs and mid-tier companies.

The engagement, held on 26 March 2026, reflects a shared commitment to supporting business growth by enabling viable enterprises to obtain financing, particularly where collateral constraints may otherwise limit access.

Through the Government guarantee schemes managed by SJPP, we continue to complement the role of financial institutions by strengthening risk-sharing mechanisms and facilitating more inclusive financing outcomes.

SJPP had a constructive discussion with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), as the principal agency for investment promotion and facilitation, on how we can work together to better support SMEs and mid-tier companies in accessing financing. The session was held on 13 March 2026.

By strengthening strategic collaboration among key stakeholders across the ecosystem, we can facilitate more businesses move forward with confidence and realise their growth ambitions.

SJPP hosted the screening and launch of its Raya film on 12 March 2026. The session brought together management, partners and media representatives for the exclusive screening of the Raya film titled “𝗙𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻”, produced in a cinematic storytelling style to deliver a more engaging and relatable narrative.

Produced as part of SJPP’s awareness initiative in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive, the film adopts a storytelling approach that reflects the realities of entrepreneurs while bringing SJPP’s role closer to the community in a way that is accessible and easy to understand.

The film illustrates how businesses that once operated only seasonally can grow into sustainable ventures when entrepreneurs gain the confidence to move forward, supported by access to financing. The story also highlights how Government guarantee schemes administered through SJPP help viable businesses obtain financing from financial institutions, enabling them to expand.
