Kobimbing is a cooperative body for companies within BIMB Holdings Berhad which include Bank Islam and Takaful Malaysia. Incorporated in 12 November 1987, Kobimbing main objective is to care for the members’ welfare in areas of economy, social and human development. Kobimbing now has almost 2000 members representing 45% of BIMB Holdings Berhad Group of Companies staff force with majority of the members coming from Bank Islam. Core business activities of Kobimbing are consumer financing to members IT and office equipments rental to BIMB Holdings Berhad Group of Companies and government agensies, stationeries and supplies, premium items which include T Shirt, bags, umbrellas etc, café operator and catering services, rental of resorts and office spaces in PD and Wangsa Maju, K L and other services to support and complement BIMB Holdings Berhad Group of companies. For the last five years, Kobimbing has been growing its assets at the rate of 15% annually and as at closing of the last business year in December 2010, Kobimbing has been managing assets worth RM21 million. KOBIMBING has also been showing good financial results every year with a steady increase in its incomes and net profits after tax/zakat and provisions as per table below:-
