On 12 May 2026, PIAM was invited to participate in ICAN Week at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam, where we conducted a career talk and an “Ask-Me-Anything” (AMA) session featuring representatives from PIAM. The session was attended by a total of 120 students at the UiTM Puncak Alam campus in Shah Alam.
The programme began with a career-sharing session by Mr. William, Assistant General Manager, Technical & Distribution, who provided students with valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities within the general insurance industry, followed by a Road Safety Awareness session by Mr. Jegatheesan, Assistant General Manager, Regulatory, Legal & Compliance, which highlighted the importance of responsible road usage and safe driving practices. The event continued with an engaging "Ask-Me-Anything" session featuring industry representatives, including PIAM's CEO, Mr. Chua Kim Soon, Jon Longmore, Country President of Chubb Malaysia, and Sirius Lim Chong Sheng, Appointed Actuary from Generali, where students had the opportunity to participate in an open Q&A session and engage directly with industry professionals on career pathways, industry trends, and insights into the future of general insurance.
In addition to the talks, students also had the opportunity to engage with PIAM through interactive activities at our booth, where they were able to learn more about the general insurance industry, career pathways, and PIAM’s ongoing initiatives such as the upcoming PIAM Fun Run that is opened to all university students and PIAM members that will be taking place in Padang Merbok on 25 July 2026.
