Back in 2023, I approach a close friend to propose a comprehensive plan that includes Medical Card, Critical Illness and Life. She was a single mom, works in Gov, didn't have any insurance.
The conversation went on a few times after and eventually she didn't buy from me. In 2024, when I have the chance to discuss this subject with her, she told me another friend who is also in the Insurance line proposed to her to sit for exam and become an Agent and buy the plan for her oneself, so she can earn the commission.
I told her that Insurance agent is a job / career that it is how agent earn income. She takes it lightly.
Fast forward Sept 2024, she was diagnose with breast cancer and her "up line" didn't want to entertain her communication anymore. Her ex husband bought her a policy which stop paying in 2023, but because of account value, the policy still enforce til today. That agent also didn't want to entertain to her communication.
Besides that, both threaten her to don't simply submit for claims, otherwise kena reject and both because very rude to her. She asked me for help and I told her to get someone else to help instead politely.
I also told her that Insurance Agent "earn" your commission, it's a legitimate way of earning income and earning a living. Don't always think your friend always want to conned your money.
There are many things you can DIY in life, but there are also many things that leave it to the experts to do it.
Back to claims, and GL and etc, I can only share with her some advice on how to go about it. She have to do it herself.
