Before founders scale, pitch or fundraise, they need to know their numbers.

Cyberview Living Lab® Accelerator (CLLA) Cohort 21 took another exciting step forward recently with a workshop on Intro to Financing & Budgeting Model.

Led by Tan Wui Li, CFO of Borong, the session introduced founders to the fundamentals of financial literacy, with a focus on mastering cost structure planning. Participants learned how to build realistic financial projections to better manage cash flow and demonstrate fiscal responsibility to future stakeholders.

Two days. 200+ participants. 54 teams.

The UM National Deep Tech Challenge Hackathon brought together some of the brightest student innovators at Exam Hall 1, Universiti Malaya, pushing ideas beyond the drawing board through rapid prototyping, collaboration, and nonstop problem-solving.

And it wasn't all heads-down hustle. Between sessions, participants recharged at a massage station, struck a pose at the 360 photo booth, and took a breather with PS5 and Nintendo Switch at the game station. Because the best ideas come from teams that know how to recharge.

But what truly sets this hackathon apart? Mentors who showed up, literally at 4AM, roaming the hall, sitting with teams, and answering every burning question that couldn't wait until morning. No office hours. No "come back tomorrow." Just real guidance, when it mattered most.

After an intense hackathon weekend, 10 finalist teams have earned their place at the Final Demo Day. Congratulations to all finalists. 🎉

From mastering term sheets to refining investor pitches, CLLA Cohort 21 recently participated in an engaging Investor Readiness Track workshop designed to strengthen their fundraising foundations.

The session featured a hands-on Term Sheet Simulation Workshop led by Lit Fwu Chin of Zul Rafique & Partners, where participants explored key investment clauses, valuation structures, and negotiation strategies commonly encountered during fundraising discussions.

Johan Nasir from Proficeo Consultant also guided founders through Investor Pitch Craft & Data Room Preparation, focusing on effective business presentations and essential investor materials.
