"Why is my insurer not paying my medical bills anymore?" 🤔

If you find yourself in a similar situation as the above, stay calm. In this unlikely event that your insurer does not foot your medical bill, it could be due to your annual limit. An annual limit is the maximum amount of medical claims you are entitled to in a year. If your limit is RM150,000, any medical expenses beyond that amount will have to be paid by you.

🤳 Contact your AIA Life Planner to check whether your plan has any annual or lifetime limit (the maximum amount claimable in a lifetime).

"How do I use my medical insurance to pay the hospital when I have to do the treatment?" 🤔

Along with a medical card, what is also needed is a guarantee letter, especially for more serious medical cases.

A guarantee letter is a letter of assurance that is offered by the insurer to the hospital confirming that the cost of treatment for the patient will be taken care of by the insurance company. Medical plans are only valid for the treatments for medical conditions that arise after the plan has been implemented.

Most people believe that any medical insurance will cover the total cost of their medical bills when in fact, it depends on your policy. Some policy feature co-insurance and the deductible. o-insurance is a form of cost-sharing or splitting the cost of the medical service between you and your insurance company. The deductible is the amount you pay for covered health care services before your insurance plan starts to pay.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner but many people are disheartened by the different way we are celebrating CNY this year. Don't worry! even though this year's celebration is different, we can still keep up the festive spirit safely at home! 🥳

Staying at home does not equal to no celebration. All the fundamental traditions of Chinese New Year can still be kept, all we need to do is be creative about it. Decorate our homes, wear our Chinese New Year clothes and prepare a feast of traditional delicacies 🏮🥮
