Recently, more Singapore companies are shifting parts of their operations to Malaysia, especially Johor.

The main reason is simple:
Rising costs in Singapore, while Malaysia remains more competitive.

We are seeing moves like:
🍞 Gardenia – bakery production moved to Johor
🥤 Yeo’s – production consolidation in Malaysia
🍺 Tiger Beer (Heineken) – part of production shifting regionally
📦 Tetra Pak – closing Singapore plant and consolidating operations

This shift is affecting more than just manufacturing roles.

It also reflects a wider trend where operations, supply chain, and even some white-collar functions are being reorganized across the region.

At the same time, many young people still think:
“Just go Singapore work, earn 3x salary.”

But the market is slowly changing.

Instead of only relying on traditional employment, more people are starting to explore skill-based and knowledge-based income opportunities for long-term stability.

Personally, I’m still actively looking for 10 more hot seats in my team 😊

Today Cerebras Systems is having its IPO too directly competing with NVIDIA in the AI chip space. Really interesting to see how the market will react 👀

If Cerebras performs well, investors may start looking at more AI companies besides Nvidia. But if money still flows strongly into Nvidia, it shows the big player is still dominating the market. The next few days for tech stocks should be quite exciting.

Kisah minggu lepas…

Saya jumpa seorang pelanggan Melayu, umur 28 tahun, kerja driver lori.
Gaji sekitar RM2,800 sebulan.

2 tahun lepas saya dah kenal dia.
Baru-baru ni dia datang balik dan cakap:
Saya selalu nampak sharing kewangan amoi… saya rasa boleh percaya amoi jaga duit saya.”

Dulu masa umur 20-an, dia pernah simpan dalam fund,
siap pernah untung juga.
Tapi dia keluarkan sebab nak kahwin.

Sekarang dia nak mula balik:

Sekarang dia bukan saja mula simpan duit,
tapi tengah fikir nak join team saya juga.
